this looks very nice and organic, I have tried it before with a russian technique that makes the end product very swirly and smooth but i have to admit I love this rougher, more textured style, it looks like a painting up close (you know how if you get close to a painting you can see the texture of the paint) and i fully want to use it on a tiered cake, as a detail or as a full decoration. stunning, and the color palette is so pleasant too

This elegant finish is amazing! Although I’m a novice baker, i can’t wait to attempt this method. Is it possible to get the recipe for the cake, as well as the buttercream recipe?

What do you mean you want your cake set/dry before you decorate it? What does that involve exactly?
@wilton3 жыл бұрын
Hi, You want to make sure that your buttercream coating is dry before you start painting it with buttercream, otherwise it will smear your coating. Hope this helps!

Will it work with cream cheese frosting?
@wilton5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mae, We do not recommend using cream cheese frosting for this technique. The cake needs to be iced with classic buttercream because that surface has to crust to be a stable base for painting. Cream cheese frosting will not crust and will drag once the “paint” is applied. Hope this helps and thanks for watching the video!
@neograffix8785 жыл бұрын
I just used the technique with cream cheese frosting and it worked great. Find a recipe that crusts (piping quality) and make sure your final coat of icing is cold before you try.

Wow! That' so great! Thank you so.much for trying it out. I'll try it soon with one of my cakes. Thanks a lot and more power!

@@wiltonThanks for your reply but my question was not about cream cheese I meant just normal whipped cream?
@wilton5 жыл бұрын
@@Raya7766 Ooops...so sorry about that! We also do not recommend using a normal whipped cream for the same reason. Classic buttercream would be your best best for this technique. Thanks for checking!
