I’m German but I’ve been through sooo many different accents. Back when I was little I obviously still had a strong German accent, which I quickly decided to get rid of as it sounded absolutely horrible. I got really into England and their variety of accents and mastered that standard London accent when I was about 17. Then I started making friends from the US which ultimately led me to adapt their accent throughout the years. And now I’m kinda starting to get into the Kiwi accent. It just sounds so cool and I really really love New Zealand and would love to live there at some point! :D
@kiwindo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. I hope you get to live here someday! It’s really interesting that you’ve been through different accents 😮 Did you always get to a point where you naturally spoke in that accent or did you consciously do that accent? By the way, check out the recent part 2 to this video which is much more helpful hopefully!

To me, I don't think of it as an accent because say you're talking to an English person or an Irish person you'd notice how they say things were a little bit different... But with New Zealand it's not as obvious. So what I want to is, move somewhere like England for a couple years and then come back to New Zealand and see if I can tell if we have a accent. It just sounds normal I guess.

@kiwindo11 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Kiwis pronounce vowels (on their own) the same way as Americans would, it’s when the vowels are used in words they’re pronounced differently 😄 Like “car” for example, Kiwis would pronounce the a more ah, while with an American accent the a would be very slightly with more of an o sound right?
