How To Speed curing Time of REGULAR SILCON

Hi folks today I’m going to show you how you can try to experiment by yourself some procedures to accelerate the queue in time of silicon. These procedures are very simple. Just need to take some regular silicon and add something that can catch humidity from
Basically, the silicon standard silicon will cure as soon gets in touch with humidity that he’s in the air so using these chemicals components, we can speed up the process very quickly
In this case for this experiment, I use some silica gel and then it dry with some cornstarch. You can also use some taco powder powder or clay, dry clay. Basically anything that can catch humidity from the air probably also table salt will work as well.
One simple tree is to crash it in very very thin powder. The fan is the the faster the reaction will cure.
To mix properly the two components together silicone and cornstarch powder. I suggested to use a plastic bag mix it quickly depending on the quantity of starch and silicon the time accelerate very fast I suggested to start with 20% cornstarch and 80% silicon once you start with this Percentage the reaction will cure in almost 15 minutes instead. If you try to put 30% cornstarch and 70% silicon reaction will happen in 10 minutes if you add 40% cornstarch and 60% silicon the reaction happens and all to me so he’s up to you choosing the right amount I suggest you to go with 20 and 80 parts.
Because this gives us the more stickiness of these glue substance
And is a very good idea to use this method to create yourself your own very cheap silicone, mold at home

Ok, that is interesting. And WAY cheaper than 2 part silicone, especially when the catalyst is platinum based. So I can definitely see where this would come in handy if I were trying to duplicate a large object that might require multiple quarts or gallons of silicone, and didn't feel like sitting around and waiting a week or more for it to fully cure. I would still prefer the 2 part stuff for small and highly detailed objects where it's far lower viscosity makes it way easier to work with. It would also be interesting to see how well it holds with the passing of time, and how many times the mold can be reused it before it starts falling apart. Anyway, it is neat bit of information I will definitely have to keep rattling around in my brain for future use. Thank you for sharing that with all of us.

Any form of water will make silicone set faster, could be good colouring, could be just normal water

You mixed dry corn starch with Silicone, but you didn't hydrate the corn starch first. Did it just suck the moisture from the silicone? You didn't mix it in the open air so it wasn't getting hydrated that way... I'm confused as to how it actually worked?

corn starch always attract and catch humidity from the air. its a natural dehumidifier. so even if it seens dry.. has a high humidity inside the particles. thats more than anough to start the reaction

Well the main issue with this is the fact that you're talking about curing SILICON, but SILICON is a METALIC ELEMENT !!! I think you mean SILICONE (as in SILICONE RUBBER or SILICONE RESIN) !!!!
