Wow what a beautiful CC. The stereo system and stuff you just put on cost more than my entire boat 😂. I am excited to get a cheap two speaker stereo system that cost like $200.00 I'm on a fixed budget and just happy to own a boat. I have a nice older boat that is solid and still pretty and I do all my own work so I can afford it. It's slowly coming back to like new looking. I owe a lot of my success in restoring it to this man. He's taught me a lot and helped me save a ton of money I don't have.

You should coat any cut fiberglass edges with epoxy and also fill holes with epoxy and redrill before using screws. Untreated fiberglass edges will get water ingress and delaminate.

I see you are useing packout containers I changed over last year to them for boat emergency storage partly for more durability and partly because they stay dry. Theres a TON of add on's you can get for them like X dividers for the square compartments makes em much more convienent.

Those with limited budgets might look for boating flea markets typically each spring and fall in their area. I picked up a French-made, $150 compass for $5 at one. It was virtually new. The owner was so rich, when one of his two compasses broke and he replaced it with the same model, he was upset that the old and new weren't quite identical. He gave it to some friends to sell and they picked that price to move it quickly. Arrive early to get the best deals.

Awesome. Id use jl if i had the money also. Will last a very long time in a rough salt environment. Adding more speakers is a great idea, Can gave at lower volume and more even sound level all over the boat to not bother others when in crowded area and also to be extrmely loud when at a party area🎉

To the haters and naysayers: Having 8 speakers doesn't necessarily mean he's gonna blast it. I'm sure he will occasionally, but the real benefit of multiple speaker pairs is that the volume can be adjusted to be comfortable at every listening position so it's not necessary to crank it up in the stern 3:19 so the people in the bow can here it. With all of the wind and everything on a boat, this is the main idea. He's not installing subs here, so it won't sound like a low rider at a traffic light. The price is admittedly high, but JL lasts in the marine environment much better than anything else. Most cheaper systems last two-three years and need replacement. He also paid extra for the built in LED lights and light controllers.

Honest question: What happen if the speakers got salt water on it when the boat is going on open water? Is it water proof? is it for lake use only? I wanted to put speaker on my boat but the fear of salt water and corrosion is what stop me from buying them.

They are salt water resistant, just wash and rinse with the rest of the boat. This is why the system is so expensive. The JL gear is the longest lasting. Cheaper systems last 2-3 years max after constantly being in the salt and sun.

I boat on Florida lakes. I have some pretty cool lighting for my boat but haven't really used them yet. The problem is at dusk the mosquitoes start coming out and they are thick in the air. Turn on your lights and every mosquitoe on the lake is headed your way 😂 on top of that the speed bumps (alligators) surface and sit on top of the water. Ever take a spotlight out on a Florida lake at night? All you see is a thousand little red eyes staring back at you 😂

Most people in S.E FL when selling their boat if they are into sound systems start their advertisement by a lengthy description of how many speakers and amps. That's just a no no to me and I am already away to the next ad. It might be great for some but 1/ making holes everywhere and removing fiber glass in a boat is not exactly sensible and secondly I like my quite time and I don't need to blast my shit music to my neighbors ears at the sand bar.

Just because there are multiple speakers doesn't mean he will run it loud. In fact with the wind and everything in a boat, having multiple speakers allow you to adjust the volume to a comfortable level at each listening zone. No one gets blasted if they don't want it.
