$100 may not seem much but with peoples purse strings more tighter nowadays, Young Post reporters Zoe Mak and Sunny Tse want to show you can still have a fun day out without breaking the bank.

The duo will visit some cheap eateries and fun (and free) places to check out, such as $16 wonton noodles to uber-cheap gifts at Temple Street market.

So whether youre a local or tourist, this video will show you how to spend a day satisfied, both you and your wallet.

idk why you guys are complaining.. this was a very informative video for those of us born/living overseas. i'm not saying i'd do half of the things they did because most people vacationing in hk wouldn't waste their time staring at cats for hours, but it was still helpful cause i had no idea bow jai fahn was only 20bucks or that fishballs were like 3. XD

As a tourist the HKD100 would include taking the Star ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Hong Kong Island and taking the double-dekker tram. There are so many things that are free in HK. I used to use the internet at the library, watch a movie for free at HMV (Mean Girls, Stealth, etc.). I often had fruit salad from "old" fruits bought in Wellcome at highly discounted prices! But the best deal of all: The free view from TST across Victoria Harbour of Hong Kong Island. WOW...

For those expecting Hongkong to be that cheap... it isnt! Unless you expect to go on a budget all the way then maybe it is possible but other than that, do not be deceived!

I agree. Also, these girls ate REALLY simple food during breakfast and lunch. Even dinner wasn't that great. If I ate like that for a month, I would be sick, and would have to use extra money for the hospital bill. lol And of course, they didn't factor in hotel costs or whatever. But anyways, the good thing about the video is it shows you inexpensive things to do, while in HK. So, that's a plus.

Anything is Chungking Mansion or Mirador Mansion is pretty cheap. There are dozens of tiny hotels in each of these huge blocks. I aim to pay no more than 200 HK a night for a single room. And by room, I mean the door opens, you step in, and have to get on the bed before you can close the door. Tiny but usually clean. Last time I was there, my box room actually had an en suite shower and toilet in a tiny cubicle and only ran me 150 HK dollars. You must bargain on the price to get it this low...

First of all, its Hong Kong, not Japan. Second of all, this is in Hong Kong dollars. That equals about 0.60 USD. You can get your eat on in Hong Kong for next to nothing. Each Hong Kong dollar is equivalent to about 0.13 American

i dont think when people go on tour they will be walking around HK all day and buy nothing. And it is misleading to say how to spend 100HKD. It is how to spend 200HKD since they are both sharing the money. Yes you can find cheap food, but like i said i doubt you will be on your foot all day. And not all cheap food like you see on the wonton bowls are that big.

Those are Hong Kong Dollars I presume. That would be about 9 Hong Kong Dollars to one American Dollar I guess. So that makes a very fun filled cheap day. Good for you ! Hong Kong Rocks !

Ya, that's what I was thinking too. How can they go home with less than $2. Unless they live in a hotel in Mong Kok. Then they can walk there if it's not that far.
