Living in France, I use mostly French pharmacy skincare (La Roche Posay, Avène, Nuxe). I have very sensitive skin and I find them to be safe, effective and budget friendly at the same time. The One product I spend much more on is serum. Recently, I got much more into organic brands like Pai, Weleda, Melvita and I am really satisfied. Skincare is a big thing over here since French woman do not like to put much make up on their faces. Si having a good skin is a must.

izeofthewrld I’ve ordered the 0.2% as they recommend to use a low % as it can react with your skin/face. As soon as your skins use to it then you can go up to the next level like the 0.5% & onwards. Also they say you must use an High SPF as your skin will be more prone to UVA/UVB damage. I love using the Nivea Sun No Shine face cream SPF 50 as that has a 4 star rating. Hope this helps

I know you asked her and not me, but tinted moisturiser, concealer over the top (collection 16h is nice) then blush (nars orgasm suits alot of people), powder if you get shiny (I like bourjois), eyebrow pencil (try fleur's!) neutral eyeshadow palette and brushes, then eyeliner kohl or liquid (rimmel or nyx), then mascara, then lipstick or lip balm (I love the dior like glow). Watching some of her get ready videos will definitely help. Let me know if you want lower end recommendations for anything because makeup can get expensive when you're starting off, before you've built up a collection hehe

I have very sensitive eyes and till recently the only micellar water that did not irritate my eyes was Bioderma (and I tried a LOT of different ones). I still love it, will probably buy again, have a couple bottles stocked up and will happily use them up BUT the 2nd micellar water that does agree with my eyes is Simple Micellar Water (not their eye make up remover that burned my eyes like crazy!). I love it and so is my purse lol I spend quite a bit on skincare but as a whole, not on individual products. I will spend more on a good serum. I will not spend a lot on eye cream as I am not convinced it's something we definitely need. I will always, always use a sunscreen (I love the Asian mineral ones) as it is the only skincare ingredient that is proven to slow down the aging process :)

For people with sensitive or reactive skin I highly recommend the CeraVe line which is new to the UK and probably more affordable in the US. The cleanser probably isn't the best for removing heavy makeup or sunblock but it's great if you need a mild cleanser that doesn't strip or irritate your skin and my dermatologist recommended I use the night time moisturizer during the day. They have a micellar water but it irritated my eyes so I can't recommend that. A higher priced line I've had success with is the Drunk Elephant line. Mostly with their moisturizers and eye cream.

I usually subscribe to Caroline Hiron's advice about skincare budgeting - sandwiching. Basically your makeup remover/cleanser and top moisturizer might as well be expensive because obviously cleansers you rinse off and essentially all basic moisturizers are the same. Of course there are moisturizers that do more than the basics so that isn't as much of a hard and fast rule for me. All the stuff in between is where I'll spend more money, the treatments basically.

I love the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Balm. It’s supposed to be a makeup remover, purifying cleanser and anti-aging serum in one and it’s the only balm I’ve found that you don’t absolutely have to remove with water if you don’t want to. It doesn’t feel greasy when toweled off. And it doesn’t break my sensitive skin out at all.

a decent rule of thumb i follow is anything going down the sink, you should spend less on (cleansers, removers)--although masks, which i technically wash off, I spend more on. also that oil infused micellar water is the best makeup remover ever.

If you like the Clinique cleanser, you should definetly try the Biotherm Biosource balm-to-oil. Although Biotherm has a tiny amount of fragrance in the ingredients list (artificial, not perfume), it has no parabens, which Clinique is filled with. Plus the Biotherm doesn’t leave a sort of blurred eyesight, like the Clinique tends to do.

It's important to note with The Ordinary that yes they use proven ingredients at an affordable price, but it's affordable because of the formulation. The more 'high-tech' (for want of a better word) the formulation and the ability to deliver ingredients to the skin most effectively, the more expensive the product. So yes The Ordinary is cheap and uses proven ingredients, but it won't be as effective as more expensive formulations. Case in point is their sister brand NIOD when you compare The Ordinary's Hylaronic Acid and NIOD's Multi Molecular Hylaronic Complex 😊

This was so helpful Fleur, I have gone on to buy many of your skincare recommendations over the years and I've definitely become increasingly more serious about my skincare routine as I've got older. I have to add in that a brand I think is tremendously overlooked because it is a supermarket brand is Aldi's Lacura Skincare. Many of the ingredients are the same as some high-end products, depending on what you're looking for, but I have done a fair few reviews on some of their lines and have been suitably impressed with how they perform and how affordable they are, they really are worth a look at too if you are a girl on a budget. I’ve recently been using products from Colleen Rothschild. You can only buy the range from her site in the US, but I get it shipped to Australia. You would love their cleansing balm - it smells amazing and the texture is really nice. There are a few products I’m loving and it’s not a confusing range which I enjoy. I have wanted to try both the Sarah Chapman and Zelens eye cream. I think Sarah’s has argireline which is great around the eye and I also like one that can be used on the eyelid.

Have you tried the cleansing balm from the boots botanics range? It’s between £6 and £9 (depending when you buy it) and I really like it. It removes my makeup well, although it does leave a balmy residue which I personally like as I feel like it makes my skin really supple and hydrated. I even used it as a mask while away skiing when my skin really needed some moisture. For anyone who likes the idea of a cleansing balm (and who maybe hasn’t been lucky enough to try a more expensive one which may mean this one doesn’t compare as well) I really think this is a good inexpensive option to dip your toe in the cleansing balm waters!

I kind of hate to admit it but my all time favorite moisturizer is the original Creme de la Mer. Oh. My. God. I look like I've never stepped out of the house, gotten my 8 hours of sleep, and stayed amazingly hydrated. I don't have to use any of my serums with this one. But, I just can't justify the purchase for a moisturizer. Since I use serums I generally go for simple ones from the drugstore. But, when I can, I try to buy the La Mer Eye Concentrate. That is one of the most amazing eye products I've ever used. I really want to try the Pixi Glow Tonic but never seem to find it in stores. Great video as always! I really appreciate the advice :)

I have personally found that my skin did not improve until i started using more mid range skincare like keils, first aid beauty, fresh etc. Lower priced moisturizers, eye creams, cleansers and masks all either didn't do much of anything to help or they actually made my dry and sensitive skin worse. There are two exceptions to that, one being the vanicream cleanser, which is so good and perfect for my sensitive skin and not very expensive, and the ordinary moisturizing factors with HA, which is really effective at such a low price 🤓

The boots botanicals range is really good. Most of their day creams are spf 15 uva 5*.

Baby River is adorable and I bet she will grow up to become an amazing person with a great courier ahead of her, you’re so cute as a family and ily. Keep up the good work, Mike is amazing too☺️💓xxxx

I personally have never had good experience with "cheaper" moisturizers - they either clog my pores or do not moisturize anything, which essentially means you're wasting your money. I know it has to do with the ingredients but I am yet to figure out which of the active ones work best for me. I'm using the REN ever calm moisturizer now and it's amazing

You can do one on hair care products like shampoo, conditioner, heat protectant, etc.

Martina Dobke THANK YOU! I’ve been hearing so much hoopla about Brandon lately, I make me sick! The brand is great and affordable, and I don’t think Brandon’s conduct should reflect on it! Personally, I use 3 products from the Ordinary every day and one from Niod and my aging skin is looking, well, less aging!
