I've been taking a break too, learning to graft fruit trees and improve my gardening skills. I have found KZbin pretty useful in jogging my own memory! I once made a video on how to connect a lithium battery to my husband's cpap machine and I later found I had to go back and check my own library just to remember how I did it! Not sure if you have the tech to download videos, but you are most welcome to download anything you have here and save it for the future

re oiling: have you tried sewing machine oil? or food grade spray oil?

oh sorry, the spray oil probably wouldn't work over the long run

So I got an unfinished wood spinning wheel. Would you suggest staining the wood or just putting wax on the wood or what do you suggest?

Nope, it's totally not supposed to rock like that. I've figured out that it seems to be due to the drive band not being perfectly centered. I can mess with the mother a bit, but I can never seem to get it to completely stop wobbling. I just deal with it now.

Your wheel is seriously whacked out of shape - it’s either out of round or not set in place right. Shouldn’t be chunking like that.
