I remember maining kensa undercover specifically for tower control. The torpedo helped me get people off the tower, and once I got on, there was no way you were getting me off. I used all 200hp of that brella to its fullest potential, as well as use ink armour, of course, so stay on the tower uncontested for ages.

The Brella class is in shambles at the moment. I used it towards the end of Splatoon 2 and liked it, but I don't even dare take it into ranked now.

So, as a brella tester, main and sub saver, sub enhanceher, as well as ink recovery. I'm a defensive player that mainly defends a desired frontliner or an area so the enemy doesn't push through. Since I use the first kit, I use the sub to cover the area behind me as to have a place to run, or behind the enemy to make it hard for them to back out. Most will try to engage you but some will have their feet painted as they might be playing close range weapons such as a blaster or a brush. I don't use much of the special but when I do, I use the tornadoes to protect the decider ally by throwing it in front of that player and it will block enemy ink, bombs, and specials. Outside of that, I recommend you to get used to the kit before choosing what to use

If an enemy gets the drop on you, then you won’t be able to pull up you shield fast enough. It’s more about pulling it up when you predict the enemy is going to shoot at you. You could also pull up your shield for a split second in between shots, so if an opponents starts shooting at you while you’re shooting at them, you already have your shield halfway through it’s deployment time.

Also keep in mind that brella is extremely buggy rn, and there’s a chance that you’ll get shot through your shield despite having it up.
