What is really odd is the fact that both take the same cartridges. That means they write exactly the same. So its like my Rolex, it tells time just like a Timex does. Something to think about when you are blowing your cash on items. Exactly what are you getting for the difference in funds? Actually not much.

Good video. Also the box shows the montblanc logo with the star in black color. As far as I know, montblanc aways displays their star in white or just outlined when printed on a while background.

There are lots of retailers online that are up front about the fact that they are knock-offs and you only pay a fraction of the cost. As long as I wasn't being duped and charged the Mont Blanc price, I would totally buy a replica one.

Really helpful video. I just picked up a Le Petit Prince pen and I had a hunch it was a fake when I got it. Weight was way off compared to the listed weight on the MB website and it just didn't seem quite as good as I would expect. The spring wasn't secured, nor was the ink. Plus the pocket clip seemed badly made without a truly smooth edge. Thank god for PayPal money back guarantee.

I just took it in and did an informal one with the sales people and repair team. They also looked up the serial number. Why do you need a letter?

No clue what type 1 and 3 mean, but I did a Google search and found nothing about it. Anyway, no idea why the hologram isn't on there, I purchased this pen pre-owned (but not used) because it is limited-edition and out of production, but I took it to the MB Store in Beverly Hills for authentication. I have a question for you, I received 2 starwalker ballpoint pens (different designs) from my grandmother as a gift, they've never been used by me and they came in a box for two. Available if you look closely on Aliexpress for a few pounds. I got a couple of ballpoints the same as my real Montblanc which I use out and about. Use the Montblanc cartridges so write well , weigh the same and I don't care if they're lost/stolen. Copies are virtually identical.

FYI… I purchased two Montblanc pens (146 and 145) from an authorized dealer called Montblanc Houston in The Galleria. The comment on this video regarding the flashlight isn’t accurate. When you flash the light through the pen it glows a “red wine” color, which is the precious resin. Perhaps your Montblanc rollerball is an older model prior to the resin.

I'm asking why you think the pen is fake? I was saying that any time I sell a montblanc, I make sure to, before I ship, get a letter from montblanc certifying that it is authentic-- to stop unscrupulous sellers from saying it is fake. You're going to need a letter from MB stating it is FAKE to prove it-- because of the idiots who have scammed sellers. It just makes it harder for buyers to protect themselves!

What you bought is a type 3 fake, very poor quality. I bought a type 1 and started to get confused with which was my real pen! I had to check the serial number against the book for the top and the bottom inside was identical but the original rollerball has a small square black sticker with a Mont Blanc logo hologram and number on it. I noticed that your does not have the hologram!

Ah gotcha. Yah you might need to get it sent to the service center. Any pens that I sell I make sure to get an official letter with the serial number... just to be safe.

I was looking at one on ebay for $300 they retail for like $550. I wrote the guy he said its genuine...LOL! So I am figuring I have his email. You know the saying if a deal is too good to be true? But I am thinking with PayPal protection and credit card purchase protection it should be a no risk purchase. I know there should be a serial number on the band. Was going to take it to a store for authentication immediately when I got it before I paid the credit card. The seller got all good ratings. What did you have to go through to have PayPal settle it?

Please, at least pronounce the brand name correctly. MontBlanc is pronounced Mon + Blan. The T and the C are silenced. And it means white mountain. So the white star isn't a white star but a mountain top. The easiest way to spot a fake is by the color of the logo. Fakes are ALWAYS grayish a bit compared to the immaculate original white. Thanks

I'm so very confused with mine, as it was a gift. In regards to the box it matches the fake one, although the actual pen is the same as the real one. I really can't identify if it's real or not, perhaps i'll go to the MontBlanc store instead, as I do own genuine pens from them.

LOL, some cameras are very slow in changing focus, you have to use the shutter button to do it quicker
