Well that was interesting. Especially the bottle etiquettes having more fluo than the paint. The recommendations in the end was my favorite part though.

I subscribed to you off a comment on paint quality where you promised to put out a video, and I sure am glad I did. This wasn't what I was expecting, but it was very interesting. I'm looking forward to more like this. Would you make a video about how to get started diving deeper into looking critically at paints, or maybe highlighting resources to get started? Or maybe a video about how particular pigments make their way into the bottles that GW or vallejo sells, and some of the pitfalls generally of that kind of product.

That is all on the docket to do funny enough. I will also be reviewing products at some point since its basically my IRL job anyways but those take awhile since its not some box opening thing and first impressions because they are generally over the course of 3-6 months of near daily usage. I have a lot of resources I can share and a lot I can't due to NDAs and other things which a lot of those resources are in my discord that is also filled paint nerds and people with some level of chemistry background. dsc.gg/paintnerd

What an interesting discovery (thanks Stahly). Have you considered making your own premium miniature paint range, or at least selling your knowledge to a company like Monument Hobbies?
@MrPigments26 күн бұрын
I have and monument hobbies cant afford me. Like literally, people like me get paid six figures or more from the auto industry and they dont make near enough to match that. I would normally since money isn't a big deal to me but its the time investment since proacryl, I'm sorry but is utter crap paint with a pvc way too far past cpvc so it has bad color shift and chalking issues.

No idea why the algorithm sent me here - I don't use paints or pigments in anything... but as a science nerd in general, watching you nerd out over pigments is scratching an itch in my brain that I didn't know I had. So thank you for the new rabbit hole to deep dive into.

@@JustAnotherBuckyLover praise the holy algorithm. The resources for this stuff aren't easy to find and when you do find the info it takes you down another 12 rabbit holes which each of those take you down many more rabbit holes and then you end up knowing things like how much salad dressing it would take to poison an entire cities water supply. Pigments are weird.

Interesting video - didn't know that fluo from scale75 was fake

Most don't. The yellow, green, and pink from their line are real though. The red I need to get samples from a specific company for to test

@@MrPigments After seeing the video, i decide to try golden's relevant new fluo magenta, that's also a pretty tricky thing i would say, most company only sold fluo pink/rose (some boost at 610nm compare to random PR122? anyway much redder than people may imagine of fluo magenta) while naming it fluo magenta.

@@MrPigments s75, if u take a glare/test at their "artist range", more lies on pigment can be found such as "sart 34 sap green", i'm quite surprised that no KZbin review video talk about these lies. anyway, not so interesting on that brand while lots of people believe that's a good brand, expecially their nonsense pearl/mica metal paint. @@d_dog9939 I will be actually getting into more reviews like this and I'm going to be discussing scale and AK interactive in their own videos. AK interactive is probably one of the most abhorrent companies I've ever encountered and they broke a very big moral rule of mine by using Holocaust concentration camp footage for marketing purposes.
