Greetings, to treat the aluminium by sanding, cannot be very abrasive although I have applied chorreo with sand or silicate, and paint with airless... very good work, guys, greetings from the Canary Islands.

You seriously need to wear respirators when sanding aluminum, the toxic fumes as well as particles. Once in your lungs, it’s not coming out or breaking down. It lives inside you forever blocking oxygen! I know, I’ve been prepping and spraying Imron for 32 years. I used to work hard and ignored the warnings, until it backfired, now I can hardly breather when I’m cutting the grass. Please change your ways and make a habit of protecting yourself!!

hello quick question, i have the same truck and around same bed aluminum how much does it cost to paint truck chassis and bed?

Thanks for your comment, Ivan! The paint for the chassis and bed costs about $185 per gallon. We also use an RV135 activator (a quart added to the paint) which costs around $50. The final coat is an epoxy sealer which can be around $200 a gallon and is the final stage for the painting. I hope this helps! Feel free to shoot us any more questions at [e-mail]. Nason single stage Urethane works very well and comes with a 5 year warranty that’s backed by the leading Commercial paint company Axalta. Most heavy truck and Aircraft are sprayed with Imron from Axalta. It’s expensive as hell but you can beat it with a hammer. For further information check out your local Napa store or Axalta website.

Axalta Imron is world renowned as the best Commercial Top Coat. It’s not cheap of course. Axalta Rival Brand is less expensive and nearly as tough. Rival is very nice to spray using a Cross Coat pattern back to back, amazing coverage. If you haven’t sprayed Rival you need to. It is truly a pleasure to spray and is incredibly reasonable price. Try it! Then you will completely agree.

Hi, thanks for reaching out! Our methods change depending on the project, but for painting a trailer we would generally use an epoxy primer and then two coats of single stage urethane paint. Hope this helps, friend!
