My gym only has the smith machine that is angled (like one to the left of the machine Naomi uses in video). Can you squat on that type of smith machine? It always felt uncomfortable to me.

Yes, you definitely can! Which one you should use/is better for you will ultimately depend on your body mechanics and the exercise you’re doing, but I don’t find that the two types are different enough to make a significant difference for most people! 🙌🏼

Just tried this machine for the first time! Wooo… I was scared lifting that bar with no weights since I am not so strong at lifting but I have it my best. I didn’t go as low as I wanted to but the safety mod definitely gave the confidence to try without feeling like I’m gonna hurt myself. Thanks for all the tips! I’m on day two of the beginners guide and I’m enjoying it!

Newbie here, at 4:53 you say "maintaining a neutral spine and utilizing a posterior pelvic tilt", but isn't a posterior pelvic tilt (aka a "butt wink" right?) bad? Thank you! Btw this video has been really really helpful.

Happy to help! ☺️ The butt wink you’re referring to is actually called an “anterior pelvic tilt” where the booty is popped out! Whereas with a “posterior pelvic tilt”, the booty is tucked forward like a dog tucking its tail between its legs (for simple explanations).
