The formation of the Hui o he'e nalu was important to manage the the disrespect that once was rampant on the North shore. Gotta show respect no matter where you go or where you from. The Backdoor Shootout is the best event that runs every year. The grassroots crew involved is great example of a local event run well. Mad respects to anyone that gets to take part in this event

As a southern Californian on kauai- and these rules apply on every island- i felt like i got tested EVERY DAY. Way it's gotta be. But you'll be getting mad-dogged by a Hawaiian just give him a nod and a wave and he'll bust out in a big grin and be like hey howzit brah? Straight up, if you're not meant to be there the islands will take care of it. Shit just don't work out for fools over there.
