How to stamp with chrome powders | No gel required

Ok so you stamp over a matte topcoat..

@@jenpierce2385 that's one way to do it, and the easiest one. I also showed that works if you stamp over a fast dry top coat or over powder. The idea was to test different powder applications too and see if they work (brush, another stamper, powder directly to the stamping plate, w/regular nail polish, etc) 👍

I struggle with stamping powder and want to try the eye shadow stamping. 1 question,,, on the option with orly bonder, how long do you let the bonder dry on the nails before stamping on the nail. Thank you so much! That's so sweet, I'm glad you found my videos useful 😊 Normally when I use orly bonder, I let it dry for 30-45 s before stamping. If it's wet, it's not going to work but it has to be still tacky. You can check with your fingertip 😊👍 I hope it helps

How does the wet polish not move when you brush the powder into the design? Can you do this with gel polish as the base?

@@angeladavis6044 when you put the powder on top, I'd recommend to put it tapping with your brush and not pressing too hard to avoid any smudge. The polish will start drying up pretty fast though so I don't see that happening. For gel polish, the powder application is a bit different as you'd need to cure the polish first, otherwise i will be all wet and moving around 👍🤗 Hope it helps!

I have a tip I saw that I have not tried myself yet with all the bright summer colors and no time. But I have the products and wanted to share. When doing a chrome powder you pour a small amount of nail dehydrator into a dish. Add a bit of chrome powder and stir. Then polish the nail! It’s simply flawless and mirror texture- no grainy finish! If you try it tell me how it worked! I’m so busy I don’t have much time to play.

Thank you! So, normally it's not recommended to cover regular polish with gel top coat because the regular polish needs air to dry and in this process there are also fumes being released in the air. If you cover it up with gel and it's not fully dry, that can encapsulate moist and lead to other issues in the nails. Some people wait at least 24 hours before putting gel on top of the regular polish, but it's not something I'd do. Hope it helps 🤗👍

Could you apply sticky base coat to the stamping plates (and powder on the stamper) and transfer the image that way? Wondering if it would work. Basically, treat the sticky base as the stamping polish.

Hi! I haven't tried so I wouldn't know. Base coats are thin in general so I don't know if the designs would transfer very well but it's worth a try. I hope it helps, thanks for watching 🤗❤️

Do you cure the stamper-gel before curing the Chrome powder for 30 seconds?

@@alexandraribeiro144Hi there, I don't use gel polish so nearly all my videos are related to stamping and designs with regular polish only. However, there are several channels on KZbin created by people who work with gel often and know more about the products. I'd recommend you look into those videos as they might be more useful for you. What's the difference between stamping polish vs regular nail polish? Can regular nail polish be used?

Yes, regular polish can be used too. I showed that option towards the end of the video. Stamping polish is a bit thicker and stickier soo powders will adhere better. If you use regular polish, you must work very fast so it doesn't dry up 👍🤗 I hope it helps!

Absolutely wonderful tutorial!!! I can't wait to start experimenting. Do certain stamp plate images work better than others....hope I didn't confuse you. I saw a video and something was mentioned about negative space images work better. I don't understand what's a negative image.....help please.

Thank you! I'm glad you found the video helpful. Well, it's true that sometimes some plates might work better than others but I haven't noticed any difference to be honest. Negative space images are the ones where you don't pick up the outline of the design but all what's outside that so the actual image is left blank. I hope it helps ❤😊 thanks for watching!
