Hey Harpeet, Ebay/ETSY is just a marketing channel, the fundamentals of business do not change. If you are bringing in some income I would advise having some sort of ABN and being either a sole trader or some sort of company. I cannot give legal advice though and chat to your accountant.

Hey Javi, it just depends on your goals outside of the business and how large you think you can make this. A sole trader is low cost to get started but does not give you as much protection. Other structures will protect you better but it is a higher outlay. If you are serious about this it might be worth sitting with your accountant and going through it with them.

Hey Stacey, My best advice is to pair up with a good accountant if you are planning to get into business. Legally I am not 100% sure of the answer. All I can tell you though is making the wrong move may cost you a lot more money down the track. So if the business is something you are serious about committing, speak to an accountant.

Hey, you would need to check with your accountant who would be doing your end of year books, most will work ok with a spreadsheet. As you start to have a larger amount of transactions or start doing stuff like GST/BAS, it is worth going to an accounting package like Xero. This is the process we went through 13 years ago. Setting it up right at the start particularly if it is a legitimate growing business is mega important.

Hey, I am not exactly sure about the legal side of things and if you can easily move who owns that IP later. Typically a business is structure is important as soon as you want to own any assets or start bringing in any income.

Hey Danny, I am not sure if you are talking about setting up or continuously yearly. For setup, I would ensure you are going through an accountant as things change yearly. With public, I am not sure if you are talking a company on the stock exchange? With a private PTY LTD you need to sign some forms and pay some fee's which are around a few hundred dollars annually to keep your registration going. It is best to seek advice from an accountant and anything I am giving is not legal advice.

Hey Usama, it really depends on how much revenue you think you will earn and what you want to do with the profits. I legally am not qualified to guide you on what structure is best. That is an accountants job and I prefer speaking an accountant due to the liability involved. Personally though I always prefer running through a registered company.
