To have a business in Japan you do not necessarily need a physical location. However, to apply for the BM Visa, they do request that your business have a physical location registered with the government.

I really want to move to Japan but they don't have the best visa options. My partner and I are entrepreneurs so this visa seems like the best option. A lot of them want you to get a job there, which I don't want to do. I was excited about the digital nomad visa, but it is only for 6 months and not renewable :(

For the 2 employee option, does it have to be you and one other person as employees of the company or you and 2 other people as your employees?

If you plan on going the "hire two people" route, then I would suggest playing it safe and hiring two people, to avoid giving them any reason to refuse your application.

How do you do the One Yen option? If one is not concerned with acquiring a visa, ie. Manage from abroad?

1 yen is actually the minimum capital required to be able to register your company in Japan. Whether you are in Japan or abroad, this requirement doesn't change.

@@GabrielOstrad yes, but the video states 5 million yen is to be deposited. Also, to what bank account is the money sent? Because the documentation for opening a bank account seems to come at a later stage..?

The 5 million is the capital your company needs if you are using it to apply for the BM visa. It's not deposited or sent anywhere, it's the capital of your business... Like I said, unless concerning BM visa, the minimum capital required to register a normal company is 1 yen.

Hola! Gracias por ver el video. Sin duda, un buen socio es importante, y a veces difícil de encontrar. Pero como he mencionado en varios de mis videos: Si no cuentas con un socio, y aunque estés comenzando un negocio tú solo, es importante estar dispuesto a delegar. Contrata personas y servicios que puedan resolver los problemas causados por tus propios límites (conocimiento de idioma, cultura, leyes, etc). A largo plazo, eso siempre valdrá la pena en términos de ingreso y eficiencia. Prepararé pronto un video con más detalles. Sigue adelante.

Hi Gabriel! I wonder something. I am Forex Trader, work alone and work freelancely. I have no customers or contacts in Japan. Can I still qualify for a visa by meeting the capital, office and business plan requirements?

I would imagine that, as long as you cover the necessary requirements, you should at least be able to qualify. However, the can always deny your visa for any number of reasons. Best option would be to clarify any doubts with an Immigration Lawyer. Hope that helps!

The Japan digital nomad visa is a total waste of time, unworthy of a video. You get barely 6 months, can't be renewed. Why bother?!

AFAIK, BM visa will only be granted for longer extensions if your company does really well, like 10x company capital p.a.. Otherwise you are stuck at one year.
