If you did take omega3 during fast will it truly make a big difference? They’re probably only 20 calores? Breaks fast just for a few minutes before they are digested?

I know it's an old comment but you can do something like 18/6 for example. I initially wanted to do 16/8 and accidentally did 18/6 without noticing, and by the time I noticed it was so easy I just stuck to 18/6 instead.
@MomenKhaiti
@MomenKhaiti 3 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem. After spending tens of hours researching it, I found that fasting (including prolonged and dry fasts) is the best way to break a plateau. So I did a 7-day water fast once but nowadays I'm finding it a lot more effective to just dry fast for about 12 hours twice a week with another 36-hour water fast in between. I happen to have the most stubborn metabolism I've seen on anyone else, but glad I'm able to move the needle with this. I also heard alternative day (fasting every other day) is also very effective for someone like me. Experiment with different types of fasts and see which one works best. If nothing else works, just stick to your normal 16-8 fast daily but stick to it for a good 6-8 months and eventually you might break through that plateau. Last but not least, avoid stress and make sure you're in bed by 10:00 PM so you can have a good night sleep. Hopefully that helps. Good luck :)

Just want to say thanks for the videos I lost 40lbs in about 2 months. I’m 5’10.5 and I was 240 now I am about 200+-. My work out routines are getting stronger and I went two meals to one meal a day. I only eat meat about once every 2 weeks. I am primarily vegetarian. I eat 3 meals once a week and break the fast. I fast for a full day 1 time every 1 and 1/2 weeks. My main thing is when I start lifting heavy weights my appetite goes through the roof so I don’t really weight train my upper body beyond push ups and pull ups. Any suggestions when it comes to decreasing appetite while weight training?

Hey man, you've changed my life. I started watching your videos and signed up for your plan back in Jan. I didn't follow the plan exactly at first, but I did incorporate most principles. Since I started, I've become much more disciplined and now incorporate intermittent fasting, long-term fasting, and keto into my regimen. To date, I've gone from ~225lbs to ~180lbs. That's 45lbs in 6 months, but I had lost 40lbs by month 3. I knew I needed to lose some weight, but I would have estimated ~20lbs, not 45lbs! I look/feel so much better. What’s interesting is that I’ve been a fairly healthy and diet-conscious person for most of my life, but this is the real game changer. Because of the dramatic shift in my overall health, I’ve developed a heightened awareness of my “self”. My physical health has extended into my overall life, also. I now have a renewed passion for some forgotten hobbies, drink alcohol much less, sleep better, work better, think better, etc… The list goes on and on. I tell everyone I can about the benefits of fasting. Anyway, thank you so much. I honestly believe you have increased and improved my life. You were in Austin for SxSw and I was so upset I couldn’t get down there to thank you personally. Keep up the great work of saving lives! Peace.

Mr. Thomas, do you know anything about diatomaceous earth? I'm sure you must know at least a little about it. I was watching your video on which fish to take & which ones to leave & all that talk about mercury got me thinking about DE. It occurred to me that I haven't seen any of your videos that mention it (& I've seen most of your videos). Apologies if I'm wrong, but if you haven't talked about it yet, maybe you could do a video on that? Thank you for all of the wonderful videos & insight, I learn something new everytime. Hi Thomas, I recently finished my fast. I did mixtures of water/dry fast. I did 1 day water fast then going into 5 days soft dry fast then back to 2 days water fast. Most of my fast was very smooth but when I went from Dry fast to The last 2 days of water fast. I started to have headaches / lightheaded and minor stomach pains. I would thought it be easier going from dry to water.

Dr. Jason Fung has definitely helped me understand the idea behind the idea of IF, but your video truly made it easy to understand. I was ignorant of the need for DHA supplementation. Now I understand that I should stick with not only naturally-occurring high-fat proteins and combine that with IF for faster fat conversion. Thank you SO much!

What if we had salt during exercise? May added to a little ACV + water?

In the morning of fasting (skipping breakfast but compensating later) if I get hungry I have a cup of peppermint or green tea, a few drops of lemon and a pinch of sea salt. If an hour or so later the hunger returns, I repeat the process. Basically each time it kills the hunger, tricking my stomach into thinking that liquid is food :) Also I used Cronometer to make sure I was still squeezing enough calories and nutrients into my eating window.

Thanks so much. I have seen some of your other videos on fasting. I plan to see how I tolerate a 24 hour fast. I’m older so 24 hours should help me a lot.

Hi Thomas, I'd like to say thanks for all the amazing info on this channel and your other one. I've been doing IF for over 2 years now and have done very well. But, I was missing some important things until finding your videos. Making sure my minerals are up, eating bone broth regularly, having apple cider vinegar, etc. I've known that this is my new way of life, but it's great having a more educated approach. You did have a video that covered when to take vitamins and minerals, and working with that, I'm now taking (In my 5 hours window), Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamin C, Vitamin B complex, DIM, and Fish Oil. I sorta feel like a crazy pill popping maniac. I'm fine with this, but I just want to know that there shouldn't be any issues with this in a short window. Do you see any? I'd appreciate your input. During my fast, I have apple cider vinegar, I take my Collagen supplements, and add pink sale regularly to my copious amounts of water. Thanks again so much for sharing your knowledge. I too am living a life about 100 pounds lighter than I used to. I never want to go back and I finally feel like I have the secret. My KZbin channel woudn't be here without the confidence that came with that weight loss. Thanks again!

After 4 months intermittent fasting 18/6 daily and rotate with 20/4 I don't feel hungry anymore, no foods cravings of all kinds. I eat just for health reasons and benefits to nourish my body, and for same reasons I fast. Exactly what people say "eat to live"! Iam 69 and don't feel my age.

A few hours before bed and a few hours after dinner I have a protein and greens shake, to put some muscle recovery and some nutrients into my body before bed. Then i switch to carbonated water the rest of the night to stay feeling full.

I'm thankful for the technical info. Knowing more about the cellular process is helping me understand what's going on when my body acts a certain way. Once I know what's going on I understand better on how to combat this and make the right choices.

My friend is super built and fit like you and he eats like this. He breaks his fast with tea and just a little bit of garlic in it and a shot of ACV and sometimes a teaspoon of black strap molasses. . He then goes and does a little cardio on his bike, afterwards he has some nuts and then a little fruit. He then does some work, or rides his bike some more. He will have some green tea while he is out and maybe some popcorn or a few potato chips or some more nuts. When he is done with his work, he has one big healthy meal. He alternates between fish and turkey or bean based meal. He may have a little bit of brown rice on the plate, some eggs, and his meat, but always has greens on the plate. Because of watching him, I have learned alot about intermittent, (he is has been doing it his whole life). He never breaks his fast before 10:30 am and never eats after 7 pm, unless it naked fish only (no bread). I am experienced in many more fast than him and now he looks up to me, in the fasting world. I have lost 90lbs and only losing maybe ten more, then I am focusing on muscle building more.

I tried preparing a fast the way you recommended it: Eating smaller portions with some fish and getting in the healthy fats before the fasting. Unfortunately, I felt terrible during my fast. I did a 3 day water fast and it was just aweful. I also did a second water fast for 5 days and I prepared my fast by eating light saldas, no fish, no meat, no eggs, no dairy and NO oils. I prepared my stomache 3 days before I did my 5 day fast. I felt much, much better. I didn't have any stomach cramps, I had almost no cravings and I slept a lot better. Overall I would not recommend your approach, because my experience was the exact opposite of what your theorie recommended. PS: I also lost more weight after 3 days when I prepared my meals without fish, meat, dairy, eggs or oils than when I ate the way you recommened to eat for losing more weight! Your theory didn't work at all for me. Any idea why that is?

OK. My hubby and I have each lost a significant amount of weight these past 2 years. 100lbs (hubby) & 213lbs (me) lost. We have done this naturally. I have hit my plateau and can NOT seem to get it moving again. We started following you and going keto. Having a tough time finding the right mix for us. Would love some info on best Almond flour etc and some other ideas to keep us going. Soooo close..

Im a little confused sorry Thomas. You say that is you eat fats prior to fasting. It will trigger autophagy but not if you have carbs prior to fast ? What if im interested in strength building muscle and health benefits of autophagy ? Love your videos and you really are great motivation for training.
