How to start a Nokia in local/test mode

The resistor that worked on all phones: 5.6 k ohm
The other resistors that worked in the video: 5.1 k and 6.8 k (I taught they were 4.1 and 4.6 but I was mistaken. Sorry)

Well, I tried all 3 resistors you mentioned in the description on my Nokia E90 and none of them worked - it's still just showing the Nokia logo with a bright white background and not getting past that. It won't even power off without taking the battery out.

Hi! A few years ago, I tried to put an Energizer battery on a Nokia 6100 and it went on Test mode. The battery I used was from an Energizer Energy E10 phone that I have. Btw, are you from Romania?

No. Back in the day, services had batteries with the resistor in them fosr this, they didn't have to do it like this.

Hi there, i tried this on a functioning N95-1 I have from years ago. I followed your instructions exactly with a 5.6k resistor but the screen just flashes once and goes off again. Is there anything further I can do, would a different resistor make a difference? I would like to get into the phone to retain the old photos on it.

Change the resistor pins between them. The one that was on the - pin on the battery with the one that was on the unmarked pin. Also keep pressing the power button until you see local or test mode on the screen. Look closely at the screen because the backlight won't turn on in local mode and you might not see it.
