Odi, Podcast recommendation: “Year 2: Simple plan to be successful in affiliate Marketing.” This would be a tag along to the previous episode of the “1 year Simple plan to be successful at affiliate marketing.” I have listened to this episode probably 40 times when there wasn’t as much new content. So, maybe by November this you can post a podcast episode on the anniversary of the previous podcast about what your strategy would be in year 2. We know that year one is all about getting to 50+ posts, 9-12 months in the timeline, 40/60 informational and affiliate content, interlinking etc. But what about year 2? Site maps? How do we submit those? Networking for backlinks? Rehashing old posts and making them better? Trying to get to 100 posts? Etc. Thanks.

Thanks for all the great content - followed you for a while. Curious to get your take about buying websites. Would you buy several around the same topic (I.e. multiple sites on tennis) or buy different topics (tennis, pets, camping)? Which is a better strategy?

Thanks for the support! Regarding niche websites, I've always preferred to have 1 really, really high-quality site than 10 mediocre sites. I'd have each site be in different topics as to not cannibalize each other, but even before that, I'd strictly focus on just a single site and build that before expanding. Hope that helps!

Do I need backlinks for the blog post?

Backlinks are always good, but lately there have been blog posts ranking Page 1 with low DA and less backlinks, so it depends on how much resources you want to put towards that versus creating more new content. If you can do both, great. Also just wanted to add: It depends what stage your website is in. I wouldn't focus on it in the early stages because backlinks tend to come naturally as you have more content/authority. I wouldn't prioritize it in the beginning since it's more important to have strong site structure and 30-40+ pieces of content IMO. Only after that would I invest more heavily into backlinks, and the effect is multiplied since my site is much more mature.
