I have started and quit my authortube channel so many time. Last week I started posting on tiktok again and I'm currently working on a website. Also want to start posting again on KZbin, but I'm just easing back into posting again.. But I do notice that whenever I'm making content, making time to actually write also comes much easier. I'm ready to make my dream of becoming an author reality, finally!! And I'm gonna do whatever I possibly can, to make this happen! :)

I've been making some AuthorTube content, but since I'm also in grad school it hasn't stuck to just that unfortunately, I'm hopingto get to a place where I can stick to just authortube and writing and those, but for now it's a bit of a mess, which probably explains a lot haha 🎥

I've finally stopped just thinking about it for years and decided to just try, and this video came just at the right time as I was having second thoughts. Thanks! Just by trying to record myself as a test i wrote more than in the last year alone, so that's awesome.

When it comes to writing vlogs, I post them more on Tiktok because they're in montage style. Here on my channel, I'll be turning it into a read-a-long channel. I've been posting excerpts as Shorts. But soon, I'll be reading my books here on KZbin 💙💙💙💙

I love this video and thank you so much for making it! I’ve been writing for a few years now and have built a decent following online (mostly Wattpad lol), but have been trying to distance myself from the platform. I’ve got experience making KZbin videos in different genres, but your content is so different but inspiring as well! Do you have any tips on how to make compelling vlogs? I know you mentioned having a film background, but any suggestions for laymen like me lol?

Great video as always Brielle! I'm in a situation where I'm trying SO HARD to get comfortable on camera and my brain goes completely blank when the camera turns on and then I talk in circles but when I write a script I sound like a robot it's so bad! If you have more tips on that I'd greatly appreciate hearing what you have to say on the topic! 🎥
@briellewrites5 ай бұрын
Hahaha I totally relate it is a struggle at first!!! I like creating a bullet point outline to keep me on track without having to read from a script. I also sometimes “warm up” before I film aka talk to myself beforehand lol so when I turn on the camera it feels like I’ve already gotten started. I’ve also heard some people say that picturing one individual that you’re talking to helps!! it also just gets better with time, I think an awkward stage at the beginning is inevitable lol
@charleeraewrites5 ай бұрын
@@briellewrites Yeah I like that idea, and have done it before. I need to be better about doing that consistently and I will try talking to myself a little before hand too! I bet it will help! Thank you!

Tag for later. tbh, the whole authortube thing seems harder than actually writing books. Then again, writing is easy once it becomes a habit, so... I guess that's not saying much. Maybe the same would be true for the other stuff.

Totally agree and writers/author crossovers! I’m a booktuber channel and I also write. I 1000% intend on reading the books of the authors I watch ♥️♥️ 📹

My little bit of advice too, for any other aspiring content creators in the comments down here and to echo a few things you said!: Everyone's first video (or even first channel) will not be the vial hit we sometimes think it will be (don't be discourage by this). Looking back at my first videos I can't help but cringe at the delivery, some of the editing, and more importantly the audio. Unelss you're coming into this with some background in production or are used to talking in front of a camera, it is a skill that will need to be developed! Just like writing, it is a skill that you will need to look at critically and invest your time and energy into. Scripting, editing, camera presence... All of it takes time to 'get good' at. Keep your eyes on your own lane and don't compare where you are with where others are. Good advice all around though!
@briellewrites5 ай бұрын
Absolutely!!! Could not agree more, and that’s why it was important for me to mention I had a couple years experience before starting this channel. Totally takes time.

📹📹I know that when I started my AuthorTube channel I mainly wanted to have it keep me accountable and to help me get over my fear of speaking publicly in on camera in general because as an Author I wanted to go do readings and events but if I can't speak publicly that's not going to be a good look lol. It not only helped me do that, but I literally found my tribe, my found family through AuthorTube and we stream together, we have backstage work sessions together and we help keep each other motivated and accountable and I honestly don't know what I would do without them. Bonus is that I found another passion in making videos and video editing (which I love doing and would probably do even better if I had better software) which I did not expect to develop. Love your video and some really good tips that I feel I can use even after having a channel for so long. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and always being so open. Take care of yourself!
