+Jai670 Padhi the handle is such desgined with a key that you can't turn it in the opposite direction the handle will turn but the shaft will not turn if tried to rotate it in the opposite direction It has got class B1 governing

Always place your thumb over the top of the handle , never under the handle because if you are starting a diesel and it backfires you could dislocate your thumb .
