How to start bonsai from a sapling || Starting a Ficus Religiosa bonsai || Sacred Fig Peepal bonsai
The other day I noticed a Ficus Religiosa Sacred Fig (also know as the Peepal or Ashvatta tree in India) sapling growing in the pot of an Adenium in my mother's garden and I decided to start a bonsai with it.
The process is quite simple.
I uprooted the plant, wired it up in a "S" shape, pruned the roots and some of the leaves and potted it in a training pot with bonsai soil. I will let it grow for now and get back to it in a few months time.
Similarly there is another Ficus Religiosa that I have been training since last year and I decided to work on it a bit too. I removed the previous wiring and rewired the tree to shape it up a bit more. Next I pruned the ends and some of the leaves of the tree. I will let this one grow in the same pot for now and get back to it again next year.
