how to start collecting Pokemon Cards in 2025

My basic strategy is if I can't pull the card I want after 5-10 packs, I will buy the singles instead. If I don't have the funds at that point, I will sell my pulls if I have any from the 5-10 packs.

Another tip is to organize your bulks! Local card shops buy them and sometimes you can get a lot of value if you have a lot of bulks.

Went to a local card store and managed to grab a scarlet violet base set booster box for just 99 dollars! (USD) It was their last one and I guess they were struggling to sell it, but that was the exact set I walked in looking to buy, crazy coincidence to get $2.75 per pack

unfortunately I got most of these products literally right before our big pokemon boom. it is much harder now but there are less expensive sets/japanese/singles

I've just started selling off. People are absolutely insane these days. I stopped in 2014 and have wanted to dabble more in the past three months. I no longer wish to even have a collection at this point. Super disheartening knowing kids can't even enjoy a taste anymore.
