Surely you have seen many crafts in Huichol art, the question is, would you like to make your own creations with influence of Huichol art?
Huichol art groups the folk arts and crafts produced by the Huichol people. Symbols and designs that date back centuries have religious and cultural significance.
Many of the designs are influenced by visions that occur during peyote rituals.
Both the colors and the designs are important since they are identified with gods and particular meanings. Mesquite and reddish brown belong to Tatewari, from the earth and the wood of the tree. Figures like the deer or the coyote can be associated with Tamat's Kauyumari, who shaped the world. The zig zag lines emanating from all living things represent communication with deities.
The most common motifs are related to the most important elements in the Huichol religion, deer, corn, and peyote. The first two are important as primary sources of food and the last is valued for its hallucinogenic properties that give shamans visions.
