1. Why do you keep presssed start switch, it is only necessary while starting engines with engine start valves. 2. You shouldn’t connect APU GEN, unless you have checked the voltages and frequencies. Because this aircraft doesn’t warn you in case of any problem in electrical power.

Do you have to hold the Start switch down during APU start, or just at the beginning for a second or 2?
@worlds_okayest_pilot6 жыл бұрын
Nope, FCTM states it has to be for greater than 1 second but even two seconds is fine. This guy REALLY wanted to make sure the APU started lol it won't hurt anything if you hold it to start, same as on the 737 NG series bro
@theevangelistdr.robertl.mc14426 жыл бұрын
You hold it(momentary switch) down until you reach 20% and immediately after you'd see a rise in EGT which indicates ignition and a running state then you can release the (momentary)switch. If you hold it for say 2 seconds, the starter/generator will not spool up sufficiently to compress air and start the unit, it takes about 10 seconds or so of compression but you rely on the rpm and egt gauges instead of counting time.
