I think I'd still make that case that it's a good time to get into Fifth Edition. While some people might be holding out for OneDnD (or trying out other systems following the OGL fiasco), 5e has so much content, both official and high-quality homebrew, there should be something for everyone. That's my take anyway, but everyone has their own opinion on it!
