I've noticed that persons on youtube who successfully launched their businesses are individuals who already had a significant following/ friend base on the various social media platforms. What advice would you give to someone who would like to start an online business of their own but does have not have a wide friend base or following on social media?

I really love this question because i didn't have one either! Honestly, starting from the bottom up you need to do a lot of promotions, in my opinion its easier to get strangers to support you than close friends so i targeted strangers. So I recommend utilizing social media marketing, hashtags, and looking for smaller influencers that you can send your product to and have them post or put it up on their youtube channels.

yes! def make a website yourself if you're able if not get a graphic designer to do it. use instagram to get your customers and build a loyal base then drive them to your website for sales, for taxes like when you file for your personal taxes you also file for your business. & then yes you'll pay taxes but make sure you keep your receipts for everything you buy for your business so you can write things off and you won't have to pay as much
