Hi, Cat! I've used planners for over 40 years now. I started out with a Daytimer back in 1981. It was always about form and function for me, but the struggle I've always had is that pre-printed planners could never satisfy me all the time, because I'm always changing. Starting in 2014, I was into decoration, but even that became unfun as I kept having the nagging thought that I was wasting money, because I was eventually going to trash the planner. So, form, function and fun don't always happen together for me. That's why I'm using a notebook this year and not a printed planner. So far, it's working, but I miss certain aspects of a printed planner...maybe because I face a blank page every week...I don't know. Anyway, thanks for the video. I really enjoy watching.

Hi Cat like that you mentioned having a planner that is light, yes that is my planner that goes with me on the go . Great teaching love this with the 3 Fs. Function is so important especially if you need to see what is coming up in the following month ahead if it is in the first week of the upcoming month. Fun that is something that I find is so important when I choose my planner , I have a planner with pretty flowers birds and seasonal with autumn winter pictures etc. Thanks love the teacher in you and planner plus the fun side.

Very clearly and beautifully presented post. I find that my consistency depends upon whether or not my planner is nearby, lol. Also, when I switch formats (pocket rings to discs, for example), I need to remember to migrate all of the important data. I've actually forgotten someone's birthday by missing that step😥.TFS!

Hey hey!! Lister here!! First time watching and new subscriber!! I love the simplicity and ease of how you use your planners. I actually do something very similar to the .50 calendar method but you made it look easier. 🙌🙌

I love the 3 Fs that you picked! I think they all help! I've been pretty consistent in my journaling every day this year! I know if I don't, I forget what I did that day. So that keeps me journaling every day. I love to make lists as well!

Hi!😊 I love this video so much!! Such great ideas and inspiration! On a side note, I loved the cute little kitty pouch peeking at us from the corner! Adorable!🥰 I had to think about your question “how do I stay consistent?” And I think the biggest thing for me is being able to change how I decorate and setup the week. So I’m in a hobonichi weeks and I tend to have certain elements each week, my events, my most important to dos and maybe a tracker or two but each week looks different so it doesn’t get boring or repetitive. The second thing that helps me (personally) is the freedom of the notes pages. It can be a list or notes from a phone call or a random collection, whatever I need whenever I need it I’ve got blank pages right there in the back of my planner. And the last thing is having journals outside of my planner. I can bulk them up, glue things down and it lets me be creative and use my things which kind of cycles back and inspires more ideas for decorating and using my planner! Thanks for getting me thinking about something I hadn’t thought or realized and for sharing your awesome tips!! Thank you so much!❤❤

I agree, the cat pouch is so cute! Thanks for the great tips, your comments are so thoughtful. I have been trying to make habit trackers work for me. I saw on Mariane Cresp video A game changer habit trackers, she mentioned doing certain tasks at certain times of the day that works with your energy level. All these tips are very helpful with helping to find a productivity/planner system.

The cat pouch is cute and loved by my students when I pull it out of my bag lol!😊 I find habit trackers to be tricky because if I don’t get around to completing the tasks, I’m left racked with guilt and feels of being unaccomplished. Thanks for the recommendation on the video, and thank you again Rachel for always leaving such amazingly heartfelt comments on my videos. I truly admire and appreciate all of you for watching❤️😊

Thanks for the great tips! Your videos always have a great presentation and good information! I really like the tip about using a smaller notebook! Seaweed kisses here KZbin did a video about using a cheap pen and gear pocket notebook, which gave me interest in smaller notebooks!

How can you use so many planners.
@planningcalm

Like a lot of planner enthusiasts, we tend to use different planners for different things. I like to share a number of ways one can plan to give people ideas and options. I guess I’m also use to it being a teacher for so long haha! I think most people simply need one planner and that’s enough to take care of their everyday planning needs.
