I've been doing this singleplayer let's play on my channel that just turned 1 year old, which is the longest a Minecraft series I have ever uploaded to KZbin........Even though it's been 1 year, only 26 episodes are out, the key that has helped to carry on going in this long term world has been "treating the world like old school Minecraft" what I mean by that is, not doing all main objectives back to back and instead spacing them out with small but cute and fun side-quests in-between , building smaller houses and structures instead of huge ones, and most importantly not rushing to upload the videos, instead uploading when I am super motivated that way I don't feel forced to continue and I will still have several future tasks to not get bored.

Same here! Started my channel in august uploading my first three videos which blew up on the channel but after uploading episode 2 I got burned out and my friend wasn't invested in the series anymore so it was hard for me to find motivation to keep going. Uploading another episode tonight hoping that people come back after the channel basically died. I am pretty much just taking it slow and slowly learning the game and sticking to the theme like its "real life" in a sense.

You know, a lot of this is pretty good life advice as well. I wonder if that partially explains why Minecraft is so meaningful to so many people.

I beat the Ender Dragon for the first time a few months ago on a world that I think about with an immense fondness. I had built my home into a sizeable cave with a single entrance and multiple chambers. Like a main hearth, farming, mine, the whole works, all in a hobbit hole, which meant good food, and all the comforts of home. I made the ceiling out of skulk because it reminded me of twinkling stars

I find that not going too hard on building every single xp farm/exploit mechanic helps me not get burnt out. It makes me have to do certain things more naturally, which is more fun and organic than just having some overpowered thing designed to "save time". I namely do this with my normal crop farms. I dont try and make them all automatic, and I just build them for aesthetic above all else. Which is ultimately what I like about minecraft. Building things, gathering things, adventuring

An iron farm here and there for that big ass project that will require tons of iron stacks is fine, but building a farm for every damn thing in Minecraft? Lol nope. It takes away the fun of grinding.

My long-term vanilla survival world I have since Microsoft got in charge of Minecraft in 2018 has a guardian farm that I still have to decorate xD Like, the farm is Iskall85's design, simple and very effective for singleplayer, and I have a whole vision for the decoration inspired by Great Bay Temple from Majora's Mask, but I always do something else xD

As someone who LOVES Minecraft but suffer burnout and struggled with getting into the Minecraft worlds I've made This video popped up on my recommended and I swear this changed my life, I've always loved roleplaying (especially DnD style or story roleplay) and I never thought of playing Minecraft like that! I also struggle with going too fast, I almost never have to use stone tools since I end up getting iron within the first 10-20 minutes of playing but I'm trying to slow down and just enjoy the pace and scenery that Minecraft has to offer.

As a fellow DND player, you have to try Alex's caves, Born in Chaos and The Graveyard those are the mods I've been playing with in my current world and I don't get bored! well, I have also been taking things slowly like Luvstars says here in the video, building and adventuring, started this world months ago and I haven't even went to the nether yet.

cool Minecraft world. i have a world that has been in the works for years. my daughters used to play with me but the caves and cliffs update made their devices to weak for the game so we haven't played since. i dropped it for a long time since I missed them every time i played alone, but have picked it back up and continued on my own. I would add two tips to your list how to not get board with Minecraft. Know how you play, or your favorite style of play. Also, most people that take long breaks and come back, get discouraged because the inventory is a mess and you cant find what your looking for inside the chest monster. Keep this organized and it wont be such an overwhelming thing. When i dropped my world for a long time i tried to come back to it multiple times but didn't know where to start. I spent 3 days straight organizing and cleaning all the chest monsters and now im playing again!

I really like the advice and your attitude towards the game. Slowing down and just role-playing little moments to yourself. Reminds me of how I play Sky Children of the Light, which I've played almost every day for 4 years now. In the game you can fly but sometimes I just walk around the maps and take things in instead of flying and rushing through it.

I'm building a city in my world since 2012, but what makes it so special is that I made a lot of important things for me in this world like... my real life house, school, buildings from movies and series I like, etc...everything I like is in this world ,traveling around this world is like traveling in my head...I even made my own texture pack to make it even more unique. this is what makes me wanna still play Minecraft 💜

I grinded 12hr/day for the 1st month of my current survival world getting all the gear, farms i'd need to make big projects come to life. That much time helped me to come up with a lot of projects. Currently im working on 3 big builds, and jumping between them whenever i start to feel burnout really helps to not burn out because im not doing the same thing. All other 15 projects i have written down really helps with motivation because i dont want those ideas go to waste.

Thank you for this video. I don't think I've ever seen a video of yours, and only minimally watched minecraft videos recently but somehow KZbin just knew to recommend me this. For years now every time I try to play minecraft it has been very short-lived. I always long to have that feeling again of when I was a kid playing it and making my wacky homes but still really enjoying my time. I've been stuck in this pattern of trying to play, spending an unreasonable amount of time just walking around in the new world and looking for a place to live. I always struggle to choose "the spot" that I want, and then as soon as I do and I make my first house, all my motivation ends there and I stop playing again because I don't know what else to do by then. I think my biggest problem is that I love exploring the most, and if I settle down I don't know how to explore anymore because I'd always need to go back to my base. I can't just explore forever because then my inventory gets full... when I was a kid I played minecraft on xbox which had a limited world size, I think that helped force me to settle down

Sad thing about auto-farms, they need to be emptied constantly when there run. I use a few to get bone meal, but I always keep manual farms even if just for aesthetic reasons. I love seeing them in my worlds.

This speaks to me on a very personal level. I'm the type of player who gets attached to almost every single place I go to. I name the regions and the bases I make, write down their histories and sometimes even write poetry. One of the differences in our playstyles is that I play on my friend's server, but I'm still the only one going there semi-regularly. On the roleplay aspect, the narrative is that I/we are fighting the "forces of darkness"... literally :D
@TheAndi073
@TheAndi073 19 күн бұрын
I completely agree with creating a narrative for your world. I have been playing Minecraft with my friends for a long time on a server and we built a city together. One day one of them asked what the backstory of our city actually is and so I had to make one up. It got me absolutely hooked on the game. It can also make you much more creative with what you can or want to build for your base or city and it can give your base a lot of identity.

Hi new sub! That was amazing thank you!! Also your home at the end of the video, is also amazing 🎉🙏 I have a year old world on the old version of minecraft console edition for Nintendo Switch. I love the older block palettes and more simple times. But combat and the Nether was way harder. Anyway feel similar ways I've been enjoying adding to that world over the year and it's like an old friend now. Definitely understand loving the pets and making your own lore. I have an Ocelot friend I had to recue called Crisper, he goes with me everywhere, has his own iron golem friend. 😊

This deserves more likes. Everything you said is so relatable. I had a hardcore map where i lived on a library from a village and i used to call the librarian 'Rumeit' (roommate). So stupid, I know, but it was enjoyable for me. On one point he was zombified and i saved him on limit of dying from sun light by looking him under the library. I put glass blocks instead of the floor above him, along a torch and a bed on his cell (even though he can not sleep as a zombie). From that point my main and only mission was to obtain what i needed to cure him. Sadly i died on caves, but it was fun to make this roleplay of being on a mission to save my friend. When i first get down there i made a bridge of wood on the large cave and a skeleton throwed me out of the bridge, falling on a thin pit remaining with half of heart and a creeper that blew down there (lucky that i had shield). I stayed barricaded there a while to regenerate and i felt so scared like i was the man from disk 11. Ironically the reason that i died on that map was also a skeleton that throwed me out with an arrow from a bridge. Same crap, but that last time i falled between a bunch of zombies and my shield broked....the end. Tragic ending, but it was fun. Guess that is my curse. Probably the reason you have a long term map is because you don't play hardcore mode . Personally i like to play only on this mode as single player to be more realist i guess. It is more easy to make survival roleplay when if you die you really die like irl. At least for me.

I'm having this very problem. I just can't seem to get motivated again. I used to be... I had a very long term single player world that I played on all the time. But I did get bored, and then just kind of stopped playing. I spent 2 years not on minecraft. Now I WANT to play, and just can't get motivated to continue a world after I create it. Right now... I got a world started, and spawn was the best I've seen. Tons of coal and iron, and exposed emeralds, right next to a cave that goes all the way down to deepslate. All visible right from spawn. I got iron tools and armor, the first day. But now, I just can't get motivated to build anything. 17 days in, and I'm still living in a cave. lol

When I play with mods, my rule-of-thumb to keep engaged with the world is: free use of creative for building a cool, thematic base and then focus on progressing through the mod (like Thaumcraft which is my favorite mod of all time, the grind is soooo real with that mod I don't think I could handle having to build a base AND grinding through the mod progression). If I had to play 100% survival my base would just be sccatered magic constructs with maybe a cobble wall around them, but allowing creative allows me to build a huge Wizard's tower to devote each floor to an aspect of the mod which keeps me soooo engaged since now I actually feel like a wizard studying thaumturgy and not just someone randonly progressing through a mod

I've been playing for a while, I play when I can nothing regular but I change to a new world after a couple of updates to refresh. I started over with the Pale Garden since I realized that the new biome would spawn a very very long way away. LOL Exploring is one of my joys for the game, finding stuff.. shipwrecks, desert or jungle temples or just finding something I have never seen in the game. My builds take forever, partly as I suck at them but also because I don't set them as "I must have an Iron farm by day 7" I'll do it eventually. Currently my main goal is to find drip stone and build a couple of farms from that.

Your suggestions are cute. But I'm extremely different. To me, Minecraft is about grinding, and acquiring POWER. 😛 I play with the mindset "How can I be a little more like a god today?"

I would say, take break and set goals are the major ones to keep it interesting.

Honestly I can see it now. During my 10 Hour run I did beat the game. Though I kept questioning to myself if it was even worth it. I did beat it as it was my first time beating the game in survival. Though I did want to keep exploring and to keep expanding my base to do a lo more with redstone. In short I wanted to experiement with my knowledge a bit more in survival and give the things I have learned over time a practical use to make a bigger and better world. Though I didn't, it was stll an amazing concept to think about.

I played before 1st time with Minecraft 1.8 version with my old friend (he was a big Minecraft fan and he was a pro) in 2015. My 1st time in Minecraft was in a flat creative world with this friend, there i learned the building basics and about few other things too. So with my old friend i played 1st time in a flat creative world, where i gotta know some things. We played there together sometimes and after 1-2 months we started a survival world together. It was exciting and a bit hard for 1st time.That was in 1.8 version too. Later sometimes with this friend started in other new version another flat creative world and after that we started survival world in 1.9, in 1.11 too. Maybe in 1.10 not, but i am not sure, i don't remember for it well. Since i played sometimes again and again Minecraft, i gotta like it. I played with it most of with the 1.12.2 version with Forge mods (i tested many mods) and nowadays from 2022, or 2023 i play with the 1.19.2 version with Forge mods again (i tested for it many mods too) and i will start in next days a survival world in 1.19.2 too. For good mods testing need some time usually before start a survival world. I know it's have 1.20, 1.21 newer versions, but i am not interested them, difficult to tell why not. And the 1.19.2 is not so old version. Some players like to play with 1.7.10 and with 1.12.2 with mods too. Plus sometimes i take break, i did it too.

some random thoughts / tipps in no particular order: 1. if you are bored in a nearly infinite world thats made of (functional) blocks that you can rearrange, you lack creativity. same in reallife. 50-110 years isnt nearly enough to play all good games, watch all anime/series/movies, read all books/manga/manwha/manhua/light novels/ etc. to get to know all types of people, to visit all the pretty places on earth, to experience all kinds of relationships from loyalty to friendhsip to true love, to raise a good and loyal/playful/loving pet of whatever species, to get better at cooking and have crazy good lifequality enhancing meals, to practice all types of sport/hobbies to a point where you are confident and stagnating in skill(ice-hockey, inline scating, climbing, parcour, ball-sports, martial arts, knife throwing, wire wrapping, writing you own book, painting your own acryl pictures, working out to get the body-shape you like and feel confident/ healthy in, bo-staff tricks, lucid dreaming, fishing, skiing, surfing, snowboarding, mountain biking, what do i know) , to find and listen to all the good music out there, go on festivals, experience what its like to have and rais kids and continue your cell-line, to build a small hideout in the woods (with your friends, as teenagers), etc. ; being bored in this world with your limited lifetime is a crime and on you. 2. if you cant come up with something yourself, talk to people, watch videos (e.g. for minecraft build ideas), etc. and get inspired. you are information. if you interact with other information, you grow more complex. more complex information is less restricted and emerges more abilities as it grows. 3. dont stress over your existence. yes, time is limited, yes optimizing things can be fun in their own (e.g. if you play POE (path of exile)- minaxing a build). but burning out isnt. if you cant have fun anymore, take a step back, relax, tackle one problem or project at a time and dont go under in the mass of things you wanna do simultaneously. make yourself a small list with priority goals or brainstorm ideas (if its about minecraft builds e.g.) and then just pick one once you feel you actually wanna do that. if you fail, try to grow, dont get downed. have a nice day.

just happened onto your channel. love your sentiment. subbed. solo for me is the only way to play minecraft. microsoft never understood what solo play means to those of us doing it. it's not the real world. it's a combination sandbox, antfarm, and tamagotchi. it's not for everyone and can't be...

some of my ways to try to stay within the game is to add and remove mods and go more slow pace with the game instead of rush my goal isn't to kill the dragon then game over instead i place goals on other things like currently collect all the wolf types get all the cats, explore and build, work on my sky island etc. i do have a short attention span when it comes to games like minecraft if something's not keeping my interest then i drop it so adding new mods or adding things to make stuff more interesting helps me a bit with staying in line
