Walk with God. My immunotherapy damaged my kidneys, so my treatments stopped. Kidneys have come back up to stage 3 & my nodules are not growing. Everyone reacts differently to treatment. Unfortunately after 4 years, my fantastic onocologist left the area... but, I have outlived the predicted life expectancy for stage 4 by 2 yrs so far. My mother had cancer 4 times. She never ever gave up. Thank you for sharing.

Your videos are a gift. Thank you. My mother had colon cancer, but she was older, she had a resection, and beat it. Then she got Lymphoma, beat it. Then it came back. She was in her 90's. She finally passed at 95, but it wasn't the cancer. She went peacefully in her sleep, her heart just wore out. You have a lot of years to look forward too!

Thank you for sharing. I especially appreciated your advice to accept help when it is offered. Many years ago, I was in a situation where people were giving me money to get school clothes for my kids. It made me feel uncomfortable and I wanted to decline. A wise friend told me that by saying no, I would rob the givers of a blessing. Once I understood it was for them instead of for me, I could graciously accept their offers.
@BigValleyLiving Жыл бұрын
That is a great lesson, and I'm so glad you shared your story! It is very true that we deny those who wish to help when we refuse their offers. May God bless you. Your children are very lucky to have such a wise parent.

Hello Michelle. I live in Sacramento, use to have a cabin in Pinecrest and had to drive through Jackson & Sonora all the time. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 9 years ago, had a single mastectomy (stage 2) and lymph nodes that were cancerous (stage 3) and then after having a PET scan it showed many, many spots in my lungs that, after a biopsy, were cancerous (stage 4). I had been prepped for chemo and radiation but after the lung biopsy, those were taken off the table....no cure for me......AND I THANK GOD EVERY DAY THAT THEY WERE. My oncologist said in her experience 10 years...again, I am in year nine, it will be 10 in November. I have CT Scans twice a year and God's grace is keeping the biggest nodes to 8mm and 9mm. He has a plan for me and that diagnosis was a wake up call to Jesus for me. I am blessed that I did not have to go through those treatments (I am on a small dose hormone blocker only) and I believe positive living and not doom and gloom are definitely the answer. Hang in there, keep the faith and I hope to meet you in person some day.

I needed to hear everything you said from advocating,to allow friends to help to showing myself grace. Kathy - I have no words to express how your message and story touched my heart. I am so sorry that you didn't have the "dream team" from the start, but it is NEVER too late. Let your family and friends be your rock, and thank goodness you looked outside of your immediate area to find a medical team that you trust. My husband and I were moved to tears reading your message. We will be praying that your new team will be able to bring you the stabilization you need to live a much more fulfilled life. I was very lucky not to have had an ileostomy, and thank my lucky stars every day. However, if it would have been the only option, it would have been a part of my story, as it has for you. We will be praying every day that you will have the procedure to restore you to a more comfortable place on September 19. PLEASE send us an email to: BigValleyLiving@gmail.com to keep us posted. Please share this with your son and family, so they can also keep us posted when you recuperate. I am so moved and pleased that my story has provided you with hope and courage. Thank you for sharing your story. It is so very hard to find specialists like your 2nd oncologists. I don't have cancer but I have a health issue and finding good treatment teams is so difficult and defeating when you spend time with the not-so-good treatment teams. Thank you for helping give people permission to find a good doc. I agree... every day you wake up, find something to be happy about or something to enjoy. It's a lesson I've just recently noticed as important and am still trying to learn.

Thank you for sharing this journey. Our son found out a year ago that he has stage 4 cancer. It is not curable. The oncologists have been honest with him and are "trying to buy him time". He is not positive. He has never married nor has children so he feels alone. He is 43. I cannot get him out of his negative head space. I don't know what to do. Hugs to you as you put out positive vibes. Thank you.

Angela, I'm so sorry that, as a mother, you have to see this. It's a helpless feeling to simply have your child go through something like this, but for them have a negative headspace, it must be *that* much harder to see. I truly hope he finds some joy...it really is all around us! Praying your situation turns around and your son is able to feel better.

Just came across this...thanks for posting this as I am going through a bit of a rough patch with insomnia, part-time job and helping with my Mom who has dementia. Love your positive attitude. I'm a colon cancer survivor...11 years out now, got breast cancer 1 1/2 years ago. I have been very, very luck that both times I have been able to do other treatments besides chemo. Just surgery and radiation. But now trying to figure out if my insomnia is because of the estrogen blocker I'm on for the breast cancer...or is it stress from dealing with my Mom's dementia as she has been very difficult to deal with and it's only going to get worse. Positive always helps as there is always someone worse off than we are. I will also encourage everyone to get their colonoscopy...I was late getting mine because I never had any problems and I was always more worried about getting breast cancer since my Mom had had it. Only symptom I had was I had gotten very tired and was diagnosed with anemia, even though I never saw any signs of blood. My GP finally convinced me to get my colonoscopy to rule it out...sure enough. It was a total shock. I was lucky that my tumor had gone through the colon wall, but it was encased in fat so that saved me from being a stage 3. Every day is a gift...Thank-you for sharing your journey...and praying that you keep on kicking cancer to the curb!
@BigValleyLiving Жыл бұрын
Debbie, thank you so much for sharing your story. Isn't it amazing how the body can react and protect you? I'm glad your doctor convinced you to get that colonoscopy! I have a few friends who have undergone treatment for breast cancer, and they are doing well. I will pray that your cancer heals and you continue to live a happy, fulfilled life. I'm terribly sorry about your mom. Unfortunately, it is the person who has to make their own life choices, whether it is good for them or not. It's a good thing that you're there to help her. That is a true blessing for her.

Your video popped up in my "suggestions" that appear on the right side of the screen while watching one of my favorite channels. I don't know you and had never seen any of your videos before but after watching this one I can truly say, I love you from the bottom of my heart. I love the way you shared your journey (thus far); tears and all. You are doing a wonderful service. I'm one of the people you're speaking directly to. Your message got through to me, Michelle. I already have an appointment scheduled with my primary physician for September 7th. I have celiac and have been blaming everything on THAT but things have gone too far. I'm afraid to eat (or drink) for fear of the ramifications. I can't make plans or appointments for the am for the same reason. This might be TMI for a lot of people but I've had hemorrhoids since having my first child at the age of 20. I brought the topic up to the gastroenterologist but he didn't think they needed to be removed. Easy for HIM to say; he doesn't have to live with them. There are times I can't make it to the bathroom...little to no warning. Having a BM now means about 20-30 minutes of "clean up" and I never feel clean afterwards. I have subscribed to your channel and will watch your older videos as well as stay current with your updates. Thank you for the kick in the pants.

Lois, thank YOU for such kind, heartfelt words. I'm so sorry about your health. I also tried to blame my symptoms on other things, so I understand. I am so thankful that this video gave you the push you needed to look further into your symptoms! I feel you on the trips to the loo. I'm always tempted to jump into the shower and start all over...but that's not always an option. Thank you for subscribing, and I would be most interested to hear from you when you get good news from your doctor. Prayers and blessings.

Your lucky to have such kind people in your life, I took care of my husband for 3 years, by myself. Not one visitor came to see him. Not one person volunteered to help me or him. He passed away June of 2022 from Multiple Myeloma Cancer. It is now just over a year that he is gone. Not one person has been here since he is gone, nor have they said anything about him. Now I am waiting to get a bi lateral biopsy for possible breast cancer, I guess I will be alone again.

Oh, Barbara, I am SO sorry! I think it is such a scary thing for those not going through it, that they might not know how to act, what to say, and how much you need them and their help. I can't imagine caring for my husband and watching him decline. Of course, in a marriage, that's what we do, right? And we never know who is going to be the caregiver and who needs care. I will pray for you to have peace in your heart. What you did for your husband was the ultimate gift of love, and you will always have that knowledge of being his best friend and helper. Praying that you have an excellent outcome with your biospy, and nothing progresses. People will come around. Maybe call someone to re-connect. I hope things turn around for you. Hugs. 🌷🌻🌷
