Dude, Max Roach is the MAN!!! Like, so many people talk about his playing on ballads... but forget that he was the one behind the drums on Clifford Brown's "Cherokee." I'm just upset there's no footage of Max playing like that.
@Momma12418 жыл бұрын
About that....I think his "Cherokee" playing sounds extremely strained and uncomfortable.

Max Roach was hilarious to watch. I once saw him play with 2 toilet plungers on a song called “Tie me Kangaroo down “

Hi Nate! Thanks for your great lessons and congrats for the roadmap, I purchased it and I'm working on your exercise. I just want to ask you if you could do a lesson, or something on Elvin Jones; he's one on my jazz heros for sure, as for lots of people. I really love his playing in the classic Coltrane's albums, especially in Impressons. So it would be great to hear something about it. Thanks again! :)

Hey, thanks so much for these videos, you do an amazing job of explaining these licks but also of showing how to play them musically and melodically.

Great lesson.. Just a question Paradidfle diddle is rlrrll and it seems that you do rllrrl or six stroke roll ...Thanks
@8020drummer9 жыл бұрын
Ok. Sorry:(
@johndeer47899 жыл бұрын
It's still technically still a paradiddle-diddle. Just like you wouldn't call an inside out parididdle (rllr) a "3 stroke roll" (or a ruff), it's the exact same situation here. He's still playing a paradiddle it's just offset. The sticking is exactly the same. Hope that makes sense.
