That’s a good choice from Roundhouse, Katie is my favourite, plus being able to buy it in kit form does help out in the old wallet department. Thanks for your feedback, always nice to hear. @@Thelittlegreenloco I agree Katie is just lovely, I adore mine. My pleasure re the comments, honestly its really relaxing and well explained. Before I took early retirement from the railway, I used to create and deliver many many presentations, and briefing material, and for me 'off script' works better, its more natural, and I never used briefers notes. I have subscribed so will be watching out for more.

Good choice, hopefully this video has given you some idea in what’s involved in running a roundhouse locomotive, but obviously follow the instructions that will come with the locomotive.

A much modified Katie and looking good. Those cranks suit this loco and, I guess, the ones available from Roundhouse Engineering?

Thanks. I would like to take the credit for fitting these cranks to a Katie but I got the idea from Summerlands steam’s KZbin channel and yes they are from roundhouse, as fitted to the Sandy River loco.

Yes, I use Peco sm32 track

Have you managed to find any butane that is already threaded? I've tried using both 100% butane and the butane/propane mix. The mixed gas is a lot less stable and it burns so hot that i have the valve barely open and it often goes out. If i could find butane cans that are treaded that would be ideal.

Usually I use gas from a company called Go Systems which usually have a threaded outlet, I was using some cheap camping stove gas for this video I had lying around. Depends what part of the world you live but in the UK you can get Go system gas from places like Halfords, screwfix etc and they do straight butane or mixed, good quality gas and most people in this hobby seem to use it.

No worries, if your uk based, tool station seems to be the cheapest for Go System gas
