I'd pull the plastics before bombing, use a heat gun and then round file on the back side to remove the excess and get full coverage and a clean edge, then you could matte clear over it to protect it.

Nice, but i would have taken of the panels to make sure the sticker go around so they won't peel of. Also a hair dryer of a paint heater gun wil help make the sticker go around hard shapes.

Have you ever tought of doing the "sticker bombing" with comics/mangas pages instead of actual stickers ? I've seen the guys from Mighty Car Mods do it on the fender of a Golf MK III and it looked pretty good

I did that method on my camry and it just looks like shit cause it all peels up after a year. You gotta take the panel off, sand it, wrap the stickers around and tape them on the back and then mod podge over top.

So... Dont do this. Create two piles - your filler pile and your top layer pile. Use the filler pile to fill and target small areas where you will need to cut the stickers. You can use a single sticker in various areas once its chopped up, so long as you leave enough space that it wont be associate to the other pieces. Once youve filled in all your small intricate gaps, then place your keepers on in creative / complimentary spots.

You did it all wrong. Take the trim piece you want to bomb off the car, completely cover it in stickers so you can’t see the paint behind, then tuck all excess behind the trim where you can’t see it.
