I'll try side to side on our next foster. This is how I've done it for the last 30+ bottle babies and was trained to do it at the humane society where I worked as a tech. I'm assuming the rationale is to not pass bacteria between the genitals and anus which I can get behind if it works as well, but for the peeing I'm rubbing lower on the belly and for the poo normally I switch paper towels but was trying to be quick for the video.
