This has the potential to cause damage to the turbo and it will also prevent the system from burning off the NOx particles from the exhaust so more harmfull gases are pumped into the air, and NO it's not legal.

Cool Video guys. I can help shed some light on this if you like. Its most probable that the EGR Valve itself had failed - pretty common on the YD25 - where the plastic gearsets failed - essentially meaning that the EGR valve was feeding too much exhaust gas into the engine, and therefore staving the engine of oxygen. By blanking it, you stopped all the flow. EGR is an 'emissions reduction' device and essentially limits NOx. Hope this helps

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, mate . we removed the blanking plate after a couple of months, making a little difference in blowing black smoke, and the engine started to make a lot of noise sound like this car was stuffed. Anyway, I truly appreciate your time. Thanks for watching, mate.

Don't do it,, instead fit a oil catch can.

yes I agree. I Installed one on my navara np300 and it collects/drain off about 250 ml of black liquid every 3000 km. Buy a catch can with pres a relieve valve to prevent pressure build up and resulting in, rear main seal leak and maintaining your warranty hopefully

Egr is where the soot gets into the engine. You dont want soot in the engine bc thats basically like sand grinding your engine. Crankcase vent. is basically oil mist blowby , if you do highway driving you should burn it out. If you are getting to much blowby you have a serious problem. If you dont clean the filter on a catch can you likely to develop oil leaks from pressure.

Napansin ko rin yung D40 ko naglalabas ng black smoke sa unang arangkada ng makina since i parked on steep street but eventually nawawala. Is this the same issue with your navara? Btw pinoy here from NSW. 😊😊😊

Cleaning the intake manifold, egr valve , body throttle and the turbo charger will reduce black smoke and regenerate the engine...
