KZbin is my one biggest source of distraction these days so I'd like to block it at certain times, but at the same time, it's also a source of great material which makes me understand and memorize topics that I struggle with. I'd still like to access these kinds of videos while I am studying. Is there a way to go around this (Windows/Android)?

It can be really hard to achieve this. Most of these types of apps/blockers are based on URL and therefore can't parse out different content from the same website.

I have this problem too. My plan is to download the videos I need to watch onto my computer before I block with cold turkey using the various KZbin Downloading websites available online.

Try making a list of subjects you want to search for and search for it when the cold turkey is off

I think you can do this in FocusMe using the RegEx commands, to block certain titles, urls etc. I haven't tried this functionality so I don't know if can be configured to work with specific youtube videos but it's the closest thing to what u are looking for. For example, it could work if you use the search function in youtube to search for new videos (because that words appear in the url), not sure if can work opening links videos inside other videos :) docs.focusme.com/how-to-guides/how-to-use-regex-regular-expressions-with-focusme/ Edit: I see Cold Turkey does accept this RegEx commands when editing a block too

dawdle extension for youtube. You can block videos on the basis of categories. Eg News Comedy etc. Check it out

Last I checked, the mobile blocker isn't anywhere near full-featured, and in fact it is more or less just the frozen turkey blocker component on the blocker (the part that will just lock you out of your computer)

I'm using this to help me study and sleep at night. used free version .. very helpful, but I often struggle to pull the trigger and give myself another hour and then another hour... xD I started a free trial today and made a schedule.. so come tomorrow it won't be up to me if I get another hour of watching YT. I started out with just one day schedule.. I'll try scheduling for more days next. (I'm scared) ha ha.. I'll buy the pro version when my trial is over. I need there to be no way of backing out of my schedule.

I can't seem to get the extension enabled. A pop up saying " you have 60 seconds to enable the extension" comes up and it just shuts the browser down.. the extension is already turned on. Please help

You can either select the area of the top of a day to add. Or just create a regular event and then change it to 'All-day' so it will appear at the top. I hope that helps!

Its unfortunate that there isn't some sort of full free trial. It doesn't allow you to block or add programs in basic version (which is totally free), only websites. I don't trust that it would block or allow everything correctly. Like windows 7's parental controls, which won't let me select some necessities to allow like atom and discord and many more. Does anyone know if it has this issue where you can't choose to whitelist some programs?

As someone who purchased this software; Cold Turkey really only works as tool when installed on desktop or laptop (Windows or Apple) computers. It is not for devices like phones, tablets/ipads at home. If your son is using his smart phone/ipad or table via the same home internet connection.. You will be wasting your money.

Can't you just uninstall Cold Turkey if you really wanted?

If you try uninstalling it while a block is running it says "I don't think I will". You could I suppose delete the directory and reboot the computer to remove the information from the active memory, but I wouldn't advise it. The only reliable way to get out of a block is to alter your system time settings which can still be a bit of a pain to do. Its not hard necessarily to get around the block but its not as easy as hitting one switch.
