Glad you addressed water going around sides of door, I have a storage place and trying to fix our issues with rain getting in units biggest problem I have is I do all that and water goes around sides of door and along wall. You have to do this perfectly for sure.

Looks good! I did my garage door a few years ago but water would pool up against the rubber seal so I used a grinder and added a half dozen shallow groves from the gasket out to the gravel and now it works fantastic. Just a quick hint in case you have a little high edge and find a puddle during your first big rain.

I wish you had mentioned the type/brand of caulk/sealant/adhesive you used to hold it in place on the floor.

Thanks for the review. Garadry is fairly expensive. Wonder how the cheaper brands would fair. BTW, the weather stripping on the left side of the garage door seems about 6" too short (can see light coming in).
@TheGuyTony2 жыл бұрын
nice video but i can't tell if the seal on the garage door is in bad shape? Would you still have the leak problem if the garage door seal was replaced before the GARADRY was installed?
@pauljastrzebiec-milewski44103 жыл бұрын
My only negative comment is not on the product but the concept of installing a blocking at the door all together. If you are in heavy snowfall area, just imagine the mess your car brings in from the road, most of tires snow will stay on this buffer and what ever falls from the chassis in the garage will create nightmare to clean. Most likely the snow and ice buildup on this buffer will make the door to bounce back and do not close at all without deep cleaning. Maybe in warmer climates will serve the purpose.

The floor appears too dirty for the adhesive to take properly. Need to thoroughly clean the floor where the adhesive is applied using hard brush and white spirit, if necessary.

How did it work out?
@mikegage49338 ай бұрын
I realize that this video is 3 years old and cannot find any follow-up video to evaluate the results of this addition to your garage door seal. Did it work? Did it keep all of the water outside the garage? Have you driven any vehicles across the floor seal and did the seal stay whee it was glued to the floor? Thank your for your response.

This is all well and good ..... but how do you stop the water entering the garage via the ends of the door?

I don't have the problem with water creeping in so much, but the door does freeze to the ground. My other issue is mice. I put seals up around the sides and top of the door to seal out the weather and mice. But the mice soon nibbled away the seal at the bottom corners.
@salazarpayne37844 жыл бұрын
Mice are such a drag! Nothing beats a good Barn cat. There is a group of people called the feral cat Society. They rescue feral cats, spay or neuter them, and sell them to people for under forty bucks with the hopes that the cats get an extra shot at Living. Good luck!

I would imagine that sprinkling a little bit of rock salt under the door might help the ice issue. I am building a shop over the next two years. Do you think the salt would help?
@HillOrStream4 жыл бұрын
@@salazarpayne3784 Wondering if the seal in this video would make any difference or if the ice would just stick to it too, guess we will see how it goes this winter for the Martian. I think I'll try cleaning the bottom seal and then rubbing some silicone grease onto it, just before winter.

Remember to set the grade of the floor above where the water can easily get in and have a drain so the water goes away. It is easier to prevent water from getting in in the design than trying to prevent it afterward as in this case. Something to consider.

the rubber seal on the bottom of the garage door on the LEFT side was shifted 3 or 4 inches. That is why you have stuff going into the garage. You need a huge positive air flow there Barney. Mount a jet engine inside the carport, aiming the propulsion end toward the carport opening. Nearly any jet engine should be capable for this application.

I prefer a seal on the door itself that moves up and out of the way not leaving that ridge to drive over and making it hard to blow or sweep stuff out of the garage, plus I don't think it would stay down very long with heavy traffic from daily use. No thanks!
