Thank you. I’ve struggled for a solid week trying to fix my heel strikes. 30 seconds after watching your video I found my swing again. Thanks again.

Thank you so much! I’ve been battling heel strikes and shanks for months!! I never even noticed on film my trail arm extending on the downswing (#3) and no other videos I found on shanks talked about this. Holy cow! Just making sure my trail arm stayed bent led to a complete fix and in fact I’m hitting the ball much more pure!! Amazing!

This has to be the best explanation of this shot I have ever seen. I struggle with this a lot but, it never dawned on me it could be a straight arm at impact and now it makes more sense to me. Thanks JC, appreciated!

Thank you! I don’t usually comment on videos but this seriously has been the most helpful video I have watched on KZbin for my golf swing. I couldn’t understand why I kept hitting the heel of my club suddenly in my game. I was so frustrated I wanted to snap my clubs every time it happened. I went through these drills in my living room and my new swing thought is to keep my upper torso pointed away from the target for just a little longer. It has made all the difference!

Your instructional video are the only ones that have helped me. You make it simple, and I've reduced my handicap by 4 strokes.

I'm a single figure player and always struggle with heel strike. This instruction is the first time I've found anything that works. The 'bent arm' drill is transformational. I tried it for the first time today and my striking was centred and more-solid. Excellent instruction.

Thank you Jonathan. Every time I get into a bad swing habit, I can always find a great video from you on how to fix it. I was doing at least two of those shank bad habits. Thank you, been watching you for a year, you’ve helped me so much. Keep up the great work.

Thank you so much. I’ve been struggling for over a year. Use to be a 15 handicap and became a 30. Completely lost it. Went to a golf simulator and found out I was heeling it on nearly every shot. Watched this video and my game has been fixed. I seriously can’t thank you enough.
@aerodynamicist48 ай бұрын
The simulators have been the best tool I have ever used for finding out where I'm going wrong in my swing and fixing it. Even though they are expensive ($50 per hour where I go) they are worth it if you want to improve your swing anf see where you need to fix

@michaeldevine660 Жыл бұрын
Thanks I do all three of these and I’m a scratch golfer. I’m 37 and been playing since I was 5. Play competitive golf tournaments all over still. It’s so hard to swing when I’m thinking mentally not shanking it or heeling it. I have inner wear mark on my 8i since I’ve been having this problem over a year now. I think rehearsing the drills in slow motion before hitting a ball is a good idea. If you can’t do it in slow motion then you definitely can’t do it in real time. Thanks for the drills. I have 8 important mid am golf tournaments this year so far and tired of missing the cuts

Yup I do the heel lift thing. Nice to actually see it this helps. I don’t do it normally but towards the end of a round if I’m kinda worn out. Probably not a problem in the UK but it gets hot here in the US and it can be rough the last couple holes when you are trying to put it away. Thank you!

Thank you thank you thank you. This haunts me and rears it’s ugly head frequently. Minutes after watching this I went to the range and worked hard to fix it. Within 3 swings, like magic my strikes were much more centered. Incidentally, could you please tell me your first name. Your accent prevents me from being able to understand it. My apologies for being unable to understand. Please keep up the great work! You seem to post videos that address the issues I’m having at the exact same time. Your content is magic to me. Love it!

I fixed my heel shots recently by just setting up with the ball at the heel, which forced me to drop my hands on the down swing. This allowed me to hit the ball more square.

Would a reverse k setup help with this problem for some golfers? Level shoulders at setup seem to cause a reverse pivot or turning off the ball with club getting too deep for some people. I have had this problem with heel shots with longer clubs especially the driver. My heel shots were coming from a lunge move and getting closer to the ball as you demonstrated. Reverse k for me seem to help with sequencing and bracing of the forward side as it pushes into the ground and arms/club are propelled through through shot and towards the target. I was frustrated with heel shots because I did not know why, your explanation is key to future problems if they come back.

Hey man, found your video by looking for heely shots... I used to play a lot of golf and got down to 4... But with a wife and kid, stopping playing as much, since lack of golf I have massive heel, pull, shanks... Driving me nuts... I don't feel that any of the issues on your vid ( great vid BTW) are my problem... I feel like I'm twisting club and coming down bit onto ball and I know my shanks are because face is ridiculously closed... But I just don't know how to solve it... Every YT vid I watch confuses me more... You got any vids for pull shanks lol
