How To Stop & Prevent PC RE4 Resident Evil 4 Remake Crashing With Graphics Bug Fatal D3D Error (25)

There may well be a day one patch coming soon to sort this out, but if you're having problems with the new Resident Evil 4 RE4 Remake crashing on your PC, go back into the graphics settings and make sure the game hasn't reset some options to above what your system is safely capable of.
I've got an RTX 3070, but I've also turned off Ray-Tracing for now to make sure the game is stable enough for me to enjoy those all important first few hours!

i recently bought the legion t5, same gpu and cpu as show in the video. i noticed in the demo that the memory usage in the main menu was higher than it showed in the graphics settings menu in game. I have a 60 hz philips tv connected to my pc and even though the cpu and gpu can crank higher than 60 i don't mind having it run at that fps. its silent and stays around 70 degrees for the gpu. got the game crashing with the same error, d3d 25. the only thing i did was tweak the graphical settings so that it doesn't exceed the memory on my gpu, i have it around 6 gb. no crashes since.

At the ending cutscene of chapter 1, the audio goes out completely and then i get stuck at the chapter end screen for chapter 1, do you know why the audio issues are happening?

I have 7.1 GB GPU everything was on MAX and HIGH and the games been running smoothly up until yesterday, I updated my drivers and everything. Now it says I only have 5.1 GB GPU . Game still runs good just crashes unexpectedly, sucks when your running a professional story mode.

I have a 3080 ti and can run everything on max with no crashes but as soon as I enable raytracing BOOM it crashes. I even tried it with everything on the lowest settings and enable raytracing and boom crashes again after a few minutes. Hopefully they patch whatever is causing the crashes with raytracing soon.

Render mode I legit just choose interlaced, my textures at 2GB. Everything set at high including RTX, Anti-Aliasing at TAA. FXA just makes everything look blurry. Anyways, the main reason why you want interlaced on is because, it looks better than upscaling. For some ODD reason, FSR just looks awful in this game. Interlaced not only does it look better, it RUNS better too. Since it's less texting, you won't crash either. You can also play the game at 4K as well with no issues at all, and get almost twice the performance. Besides that, just keep the graphics Memory low. It's clear that this game has a memory leaked, no matter what settings you set to MAX.

Use the DLSS mod (if you have an Nvidia card obviously), it looks far better than FSR and Interlaced and provides a higher FPS boost. Also FSR looks shit in everything, with DLSS it's like a fine/thin smearing of vaseline across the display, with FSR it's like the entire tub was smeared across the display.

I had no problem with it when it first came out. I have a powerful computer and ran max no problem. Decided to come back to play DLC. I can play for like 1 min and then it crashes. I can ply mercenaries though, which I guess is something... Shame.

It happens to me. I have seen that when I pause the game it tends to freeze even more. It freezes and I can onli close Windows Session, or turn off the PC. No ray tracing, AMD RX 6800 XT.

I had this issue, game would crash despite me having like 100fps on high settings. The issue was that for some reason game switched texture filtering to x16, with 2gb textures and unlimited framerates. My game would run smoothly without any issue at 90-100 fps but then just randomly crash. So what work for me is to lower texture filtering to x4 (it could work with x8 I guess but no point), and I limited fps to 60 and my refresh rate to 60 (I can do 144). No crashes so far. My specs are ryzen 5 5600x, 16gb ddr4 amd 6650 xt (8gb), game is on SSD.

Mmmmm doesn't work. I put every setting to low or off (I have a 4090 btw) just to test it fps was capped to 60 in the Nvidia control panel went around and crashed in the village also crashed at the ....... factory area just before the big cheeses house. Don't think it's a VRAM issue.

I played through the whole game without a single crash and then went into NG+ on professional difficulty. Then it crashed right after the village part, which i finally survived after 5 tries.

I have a 4090 and I can max it out easy and get 120fps. I don’t understand why I keep getting a crash. It seems to happen wen entering a new area. I turned RT down one from max and it didn’t help. Changed from full screen to windowed full Still crash after entering new area. Only the game crashes my pc doesn’t. Also I played the Diablo 4 beta for 3-4 hours straight each day and not a single crash.

@usernotfound lmao dude, just wait for a patch or turn off rtx, if your system is not able to handle that be it because of RAM CPU OR GPU, lowering the settings to when they are not red anymore there are no crashes, Im playing with a ryzen 7 5700g and rtx 3050 on everything maxed except shadows are on high and textures on 2GB and no crashes, only when I up the textures above 2GB do I get a crash.

@@Rhetorical346 Don't know what to tell you then, how come my worse GPU has fewer crashes, yours should handle it much better, you don't need to turn anything off really, it's just that you are under the red or yellow if yellow is crashing too, mine is yellow and had only one crash like that until now, but only because I was changing the settings mid game.. Just wait for the first patch then, and also did you install the new Nvidia game ready drivers?

The game shouldn't turn your PC off. Check your PSU man, the only reason why your computer would ever shut off is due to PSU issues

I installed the recent driver and from it the Nvidia software changed all my graphical settings to ultra with ray tracing on high haha. Ray tracing is the only thing that caused the fatal error for me that and using more VRAM than I actually have available. Stupid software.

You have a 3070, I even have a 3080, but you are setting the game like you are using a 1070. I just dont understand why it just kept crashing on my PC, it's not right. @@tiansunli2463 i follow a suppose fix to the error. Actualize drivers of video and nothing, but with the rest of drivers don't throw me (for now) that fatal error. I'm playing with everything at max less shadows (high) RT at Max. I think the drivers make it work.

dude high 8gb is for screenshots with RTX enabled come on, even with that graphics card, as for crahing ye they need to patch it. But dont be such a cry baby and turn RTX off untill then or something if you want to use max max settings. I have a RTX 3050 and the game doesnt crash with everything on max and textures on high 2GB, there is almost no difference in textures on 6 and 8gb, its only making the far away stuff a bit higher texture so suck it up for at least the first week, its not a big deal lmao... Cyberbug was a different story, the game had problems from textures to missions and AI itself, so many things were broken.. this is just technical for now, RTX off doesnt ruin the game or anything.. or lowering the textures a bit but still on high

No ofense but this problem D3D error 25 still is in Resident evil 2 so nope no one will fix it but lucky for me in resident evil 2 only in 2 place crash idk why or what cause that but im very very sure they dont give a fuck about this problem same was in resident evil 3 so no ray tracing on ultra for lot of us
