I've been plagued with the same question as you for some time. One thing I discovered for me is if you look up highly sensitive people. Sometimes you don't do anything for awhile before an event because the extra stimulus drains you so bad you prepare for it by hiding out. It was something that opened my eyes to a lot of my actions and behaviors.

omg i was gonna do nothing before my class @ 3:15 pm but then i saw the video title and decided to go grocery shopping!! my fridge was almost completely empty and knowing me, i'm gonna be dead after that online lecture and won't have the motivation to leave. (and thus wouldn't have had anything nutritious to eat today lol) so you really posted this at the perfect time~

What I got from this was to just have something planned literally anything to do after you wake up get home (my 2 bad habit points) so that you don’t fall into the ‘slump of relaxation’

I would feel this exact same way everytime I had a night shift at the place I worked at it would cause me to hault all the productive things I wanted to do and overall be super unsatisfied with my life, well being and choice of income. I later quit my job and am thinking of working on only social media. I know I can do it I am just scared cus I live alone I pay rent and all my bills and go to private uni where everything is super expensive. I got an interview for a job at Starbucks but Im not sure if its right for me if I should have another job it is only for stability but Ik I will keep falling into this same "event paralysis" which is super bad for my mental health.
