How to stop thinking about someone and become obsessed with yourself

This is hard to do when you have a serious crush on someone (who actually returns your crush). But I find that cleaning and working out or doing creative activities that absorb a LOT of your attention and focus are the best ways to keep your mind off the person.

I’m 26yo, Had 3 kids with this woman (2yo twin girls and 1yo boy), married 4 years together for 7, and man I cannot stop thinking about her. She got up and left me for another man, and yes I could’ve been a better husband, I took my anger out on her sometimes, and I focused too much on work, I accept I made mistakes, but I also tried to do the best for our future, and for her to leave, and immediately get into a new relationship and even move in with another man, at least my current thoughts are that it’s unforgivable and I could never take her back.. but damn it is hard and I still think about her every day, but You are right.. Im a guy and i have a doubt i dont like running behind every women i see i have someone in my life who i really love things were not going well in our lives for sometimes i felt a bit leftout drained ( cup felt empty) it was so intense and good in the beginning .I know that it's not gone anywhere. Thing is i really love her. Shes a bit too focused on herself rn im totally fine with it. But for what i have to offer i deserve much better than that. Hot nd cold is not my thing. As an empath my only problem is when i ultra focus on myself i feel its a bit selfish and harsh . How do i byepass this feeling. Any suggestions.?

If you truly love her, you should let her know how you feel and go from there. Speaking your feelings is 100% worth it, worst case she won’t reciprocate and then you move on and allow an even better door of love to be opened for you.

Idk .that's how I feel shes not a player kind of woman she does have standards I love to see her become successful and i love the idea of us evolving together. But I think repeating to myself it's not selfish to care for yourself will be my saviour ig. I've received in plenty when I did that . I think boundaries need to be set. Cant play with our lives anymore so yea I do get your point.

You can always make it known that you’re interested for a bit but if it’s too long of her not reciprocating, you have to do what’s best for you!
