Today I went downhill and was too scared to turn around toe stop so I dove into a bush to stop myself from rolling onto the highway 😅 turning around when you’re going super fast is scary

I like how most of us are here because we just fell down. I went down 3 different hills and each time realized I didn't know how to stop that way. I was realizing the hill was too much, I'm rolling faster, stopping is harder. I tried getting low, spreading my legs, but I was still going faster. Thankfully I was wearing gear, and I didn't feel a thing.

I went skating for the first time yesterday with my mother. Saw a slight downhill- we didn't think much of it. We went flying down and fell into the grass pretty hard. I thought we needed a better way to stop and that's how I'm here lol

My wife and I went skating outdoors today for the first time in 30yrs. We came to a downhill... and said OH NO.... NOPE. Glad I didn't try it because I would have never thought to turn backwards to toe stop! lol That is how I am here :)

Wish I would've watched this before yesterday. First time going downhill in my neighborhood and didn't realize how much speed I would pick up on a slight decline. Panicked and stopped by falling and scraping my ass across the pavement twice! Really feeling the ache today. :(

Oh my god I thought I could handle a slight incline the other day and I got going a lot faster than I thought I would go and I wiped out at the bottom of that incline, hit some bumps and went flat on my back ..I am still recovering a week later

I was skating in my neighborhood a couple days ago and turned down a hill that was WAY steeper than I thought. I didn’t know how to stop going that fast and panicked, so I saw a parked truck and thought I could use the truck to stop myself. 🙄 YOU GUYS. Don’t do that. I hit the truck SO HARD and messed up my knee. Now I’m on crutches and watching all the videos I can on how to stop at high speeds.

Yesterday I try to skate downhill, Sooooo fast!!! And I lost my balance!😭 I do not know what to do, then I trying to knock my body onto pavement😭. My head hurt, my back, my butt, my elbows and palms bleeding😭. I still grateful because I didn’t knock my body to the right side, bcs there was a car and motorbike😭😭 Thank God I am still alive🥺❤️

I’m getting back into skating after 15 years. Today I went down a small hill accidentally, I was not expecting the decline, stopped by falling. I just got down real low when I realised that I was picking up speed and then suddenly though oh my im not slowing down at all. I think I'm just gonna have to take a knee, flew forward but fortunatelyjust grazed my elbow where my pad slipped up. There are literally no flat places near my house.

I went down my first hill today since my neighborhood has A LOT of hills and I'd just gotten my new skates. But, I skate so stiffly and when I went downhill and was picking up speed I realized I'd either end up in someone's driveway and end up bouncing off of their garage or I'd topple over trying to turn, so I purposely fell back on my hands and scraped them so I'd stop T-T

I can use both toe stops to stop, but I'm still having balance issues when turning around at a slow speed. When I try to turn around going a little faster, my legs spread out way too far so it's like a mohawk rather than a quick smooth turn. It's been 2 months, and I'm still having a hard time transitioning.

I got into a pretty bad accident the other day because I was going down a hill that I didn’t realize was so steep. The road was so broken and gravely and I was terrified not sure how to safely stop because I knew the road would eventually take me out before I got to the bottom. I was preparing to dive in the grass when sure enough a crack in the road took me out. Now I have a deep hole in my knee and bad scrapes. I was hoping to get info for next time I find myself in this situation. Unfortunately this technique wouldn’t have worked. I probably would’ve ended up stumbling mid turn and rolling my body down the hill. Maybe just no more skating on back roads for me. 😢

Nicole! I just recently got up courage to skate down a big hill in the area that I skate - normally I have to just do it in small sections and run onto the grass! But - I cannot turn around while going down hill at speed!! Can you help with that part? I’m fine using my toe stops but just can’t actually turn around!

I went down a hill caught a lot of speed then their was like a slight break and then another hill up. I made it over the break started going up the next hill and don’t know what happened fell backwards on my butt and skidd!

I usually only skate on flat surfaces but yesterday I went to a new park and decided to skate downhill. The first time I went downhill I realized that there was a huge pothole so I managed to swerve into the grass and I didn't hurt myself. If I wouldn't have swerved I probably would've fucked up my face. The second time I was going downhill I ended up landing on my ass and injured my tailbone. So now I gotta learn how to do this right

Well I’m here because I went down what I though was a small decline, yeah well I was going at top speed couldn’t use my toe stops so what do I do? I reach for the fence. Well that didn’t help I ended up falling and landing the hardest I’ve ever landed on my ass. Well Atleast it only hurts when I sit🙃
