I definitely agree that it's unfair to not expect a Doberman to bark. However my issue is mine barks back and forth with other dogs in the neighborhood or random noises, passers-by late into the night sometimes (he's an outside dog don't crucify me) and I have the good fortune of my window facing his favorite spot to sit and bark in the backyard.

@@animeman6599 I didn't do anything in particular to shut him up but I have noticed he doesn't keep me up all night anymore haha Not sure if it's age or something else. I do always make sure to greet him first thing in the morning (In my head this should get us on a similar schedule) Also, he keeps himself pretty entertained chasing squirrels and birds all day so maybe he's just draining his energy more, I'm not entirely sure

I don’t have a Doberman. I have a well-behaved 15 year-old terrier who does not (and never has) been a “nuisance barker”. But my neighbors have a new Dobie puppy who barks Constantly and it is beginning to drive me insane. My neighbors told me (4 months ago) that they are working with a trainer to stop the impulsive barking, but there has been No progress and No change, so I don’t think I believe it. I love animals, but I have zero respect for pet owners who allow nuisance barking be an ongoing headache/problem for everyone around them. Thank you for your video. I appreciate that you are trying to help people be respectful, responsible pet owners. It’s important to get barking under control ASAP.

Excellent information. I am thinking of getting Doberman by next year. I had few German Shepherds, few Labradors and few smaller breeds but never raised Doberman. I am opting for Doberman this time for one main reason, that it doesn't shed too much hair, since , I 'll be travelling a lot in my RV and spending lots of time on various beaches along with my Doberman. He'll have all the time I got. Thanks for sharing the tips. I subscribed. what I've noticed about my 6 month old doberman is that its not aggressive barking to other dogs it more at first wanting to say hello and then when he says hello its continous barking sort of play like but also like he's unsure to play with them. He likes to say hello to other dogs they just can't say hello back like sniffing his behind.

My neighbor adopted a 4yr old Doberman. 4 months ago. Very sweet, playful, and usually minds.....me. I inherited a well-trained Pit, Lab mix and they get along when I let mine out. Just so you know I Am a Dog person. My problem with the neighbor's Doberman is he barks nonstop if left alone. He is my new alarm clock anywhere from 4 AM on. The neighbor says she's trying to train the dog. Usually by turning up her TV I've noticed. My question. What can I do to keep My sanity as well as a decent relationship with the neighbor?

Hi Will-any suggestions for a dobie that barks when in the car and sees people walking or riding bikes? Our female dobie goes nuts. I have to keep the windows closed. We were walking at the park tonight (on leash) and she went crazy when she saw a pomeranian sitting with his/her owner on a park bench. Kids around us were a bit scared. I had treats and gave them to her before the barking began and told her "good hush". As we got closer, the barking began. It's been very hard. Curious to hear your thoughts.

We have one. She's 6, but we didn't have her as a young puppy so she wasn't taught correction at that vital age. We've had her for a year now. She's great with us, because she's known as since a puppy and we knew the previous owner closely. However, things happened and now we took her. The problem we have with her. Is she will constantly bark at the window when people walk past, also aggressive towards people/dogs she doesn't know. She sometimes ignores our demands such as "stop" etc. She's an amazing dog but has so many bad behaviours due to the previous owners lack of training as she grew up. The only people she'll be comfortable around is Family.

Hi Will. I have a 4 yr old doberman. He is great at protecting and notifying us of strangers. But he'll sit in the front room looking out the window and randomly bark at nothing. It has gotten much better after I started taking him to day camp to play and exercise, but it is still an issue when I'm working from home in my office and he's just barking. He also barks at any car that drives by I'm not sure if that is him protecting and notifying me maybe you could elaborate on that as well. I do the positive reinforcement when he is protecting and that's been great he does stop barking but the other issue of him just looking outside and barking at nothing I cannot seem to get him to stop. My Doberman is now 1 and he’s becoming very territorial. Problem I’m having is when I leave the house and put him in the crate he barks none stop and cries If I leave him out I come home to the house chewed, any advice? Thanks

Just moved into a loft in a security building and my dog barks in the hallway as a response to other dogs barking from behind their doors. Could you do a video on tips to get my Doberman to stop whining / crying during the night and early in the morning to wake up the household for attention he will continuously cry all night and I’ve noticed a lot of people suffer with this from their Doberman. I have a 10 month old Doberman boy, I’ve worked really hard on command training and whistle training with him, his off the lead behaviour was to what I would consider a reasonable standard but over the past month or so he’s decided he no longer wants to abide by any commands given to him and will display total ignorance to anything I say or do.

My dog doesn’t bark at no one my dog doesn’t bark at any dog or looks for fights or problems but his only issue is as soon as it’s time to go to sleep he’s up barking barking & barking , I walk him exercise him every day & night before bed I train him on what he needs improvement & I do the same so basically we learn together but that’s his issue he struggles with that & some obedience
