Whole keyless entry practicality is useless. Normal key is less hassle.

I've been told that a fuel pump cut-out switch is the way to go. It does seem to be an easy install and quite effective as long as the thief doesn't know you have one. Just a thought...

Satch, I’ve hidden a couple of those cheap Apple Air Tags inside mine. I know they are not dedicated trackers, but they’ve been working quite good. Batteries last about a year and are easy to replace.

The tips are sound but the whole obsession with keyless entry in the first place led to one of the main issues. It was always going to be a massive design flaw and you shouldn't need to buy a pouch for your keys. This isn't progress and car manufacturers have endless excuses (and no interest) for why such poor choices are made.

Hi Satch, I fitted a tracker to the battery, like the one you have mentioned and when my car went to Porsche for service they told me my warranty was invalid as I had fitted it and it wasn't a Porsche recommended tracker so I had to remove it to keep my warranty valid, a little unfair I think!!

What did you end up with?
@bubbleandcharlie2 жыл бұрын
@@Wendyjuicy Hi, I ended buying a wireless, magnetic tracker, controlled via a sim card and app.Just call the number and it sends a message with GPS coordinates and a Google map of its location. Battery lasts about 60 days so have to keep check on battery and recharge accordingly, but works well, just hide it in the car, that's not obvious.
@Wendyjuicy2 жыл бұрын
@@bubbleandcharlie did Porsche approve of this device and reinstated your warranty? Do you have the name of this gps?

With Mercedes Keyless systems one can simply press the "close doors" button twice and it will desable the key fob keyless function. Do you think that Carsoft or any scan tool can desable the ignition and/or fuel pump systems? If one knows which fuses to disconnect it can also be of a great help in a car that seats for a long time in the garage or outside.

The steering wheel anti-theft bar you will use once maybe twice, after that it will spend the rest of it's days in the room where you store all the other things you used once maybe twice, so my advice would be: skip this purchase. 😁

I had one for the last 25 years…. It was stored in my garage in a unknown bucket. I finally took it to the dump… felt good flinging it into the metal bin. I said goodbye.

All these tips are completely useless. Thieves that can relay a car key also have jammers. The also don’t give a damn about cameras, lights or alarms. They’re in and out within 90 seconds. This is including removing a steering lock cover. Cause those things can be picked with a waver in 3 seconds. The only thing that would actually help is installing a vingerprint scanner or code before being able to start the car. You’d still be keyless, but better. That said, if they really want it they’ll get it.
