How to Store Shoes

Here are a few recommendations on how to best store your shoes (I know, I know, super lucky to have a cupboard this time but it's the first time!)
If you have any tips of your own, please leave them below as well as any vid recommendations- It's been awesome to get so many shoe requests haha :)

I love the shoe bag idea :) I store my shoes in shoe boxes BUT I cut out one of the narrow walls on each box and then stack the boxes on top of each other. This way you can see your shoes (cause you cut out the wall) and use the boxes as little shoe shelves :)

When I lived in a shared dorm room, I lined up my shoes under my bed. That way, they were reasonably well protected, out of the way and I could easily see them. Now I live in a shared flat and we have a massive shoe thingy in the hallway. The shoes that are out of season are stored in boxes and put away in the narrow space between my cupboard and the wall, or under my desk. :)

Putting my large shoe collection in shoe boxes, some of them ended up with mold, even though each box has multiple packets of silica gel sachets! Even brand new shoes that have never been worn developed mold :( Turns out some of the cardboard boxes that shoes come in can trap moisture, especially if you live in a place with high humidity.

Hi Jodie! I love your tips. They are very practical. 👌🏼 Anyways, just want to share my own shoe storage tip. Instead of shoe bags, I use ziplocks so I can see what’s inside (because I don’t have polaroid and photo printing isn’t my thing really 😬). And I use puncher to make holes so my shoes can still breath (but I also put the silica gel).

Usually only buy sneakers... I️ keep the boxes, only have one or two on rotation. Shoes last about 5+ years for me, since I️ rotate my shoes every month or two.

My shoes are a mess. To gain space, I store at least 2 pair of shoes in one box ! When I look for a specific one, well I struggle 😂

Don’t shoe boxes creat moisture and damage the shoes since there is no airflow in the shoe box?

I was told that keeping sneakers in boxes damages them when left for some time… is this true? I was going to buy a couple shelves to put my shoes on. Is this better to keep the condition at its best?
