So is plastic okay or not? You mentioned using a plastic bin to store sweaters, but then said to use garment bags that breathe.

Good question! Sweaters can be stored in the bin. They need to be protected so that bugs can’t get to them. Don’t overstuff the bins with your sweaters, they need to be able to breathe. Plastic garment bags will suffocate the bugs too, but this refers to when your clothes come back from the dry cleaners and you put them in your closet, don’t keep the plastic around the individual items because it can cause things to yellow.
