I would like to know if it's common to be responsible for 2 or 3 aisles at the same time in other distribution warehouses. They makes us do 2 or 3 rows at the same time which is technically 4 and 6 aisles. 21-24 or 21-26 for example. I really think it's an overkill for one employee.
@alejandrobustillos6244 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve worked at a couple delivery centers now and 3 is standard. But like the video mentioned try not to stay in the same aisle for too long. Do 70% of the boxes and jiffies or just leave enough space for the pullers to comfortably stack boxes. It can get stressful at times but you find ways to be more efficient
@krischow3 Жыл бұрын
The stations I’ve worked at have an average of 3-4 assigned aisles. I once was assigned 5 lanes (11-19) when we were short head count. In all honesty I found it enjoyable, primarily because there were six of us doing this (we knew each other and cheered each other on), and no one was floating into my aisles because we were all just too busy with our own 😅 That said, it’s not something I’d do very often nor would I encourage it as an acceptable standard.

@ramblingswithkim75432 жыл бұрын
There is literally no way to do this where I work. We get counseled one day if our pods aren't completely full & then we have to have a manager look at our pods before we close them. Then the next day we don't need one as long as no more boxes can fit in them and that literally means NO MORE BOXES even the smallest. Then we are if put large boxes in the pods that don't fit even if they don't say oversize. Then we have floaters who put boxes that don't fit and you can't close any pods and everything is falling out of the pod and you're the one who is blamed. We have rampant nepotism. Anyone of color is pulled to be trained on something that will lead to a full-time or easier position. We have employees who are using dangerous methods of moving bags into empty pods at the end of the night but I was counseled for having someone training me to use a stow cart to move bags. The pickers constantly place items in the wrong buffers so you are running everywhere. There is literally no time to take a drink of water or go to the bathroom. Now maybe this is just me. I have a PhD in psychology & am literally doing this to train for a duathlon but it makes me sad to see hard working employees shredded who can't afford to lose their job while I am literally the only person who can walk off at anytime or have the ability to say how I feel or what I see.

6:10 I don't think these are the main reasons. Bathroom breaks and being reassigned to a different location that takes about 10 minutes to get to because you have to be walking down floor levels and walking long distances would be main culprit. You really can't just take a bathroom break only once in a 10 hour or 12 hour shift. You would likely need to take at least 4 bathroom breaks during these 10 hour shifts and 6 bathroom breaks during a 12 hour shift. Your not gonna go to your bathroom break on your 15 minutes break because you have to drink something before you get your 30 minute unpaid lunch break. You get 15 minutes of break during your 5 hour shift than you get 30 minute break in between your 10 hour shift and i believe its 30 minutes of break after 6 hours in your 12 hour shift per day schedule. The building is so big that by the time you walk out of it your 30 minutes are almost up so you have to bring your own lunch or eat there unhealthy snacks. Yet amazon should be mindful of there employees and at least create an cafeteria where people can buy there own meals. Every big corporation does this so amazon could show some appreciation for its employees. That's the main issue with amazon that they have a 10 hour shift or 12 hour shift with high rate demands but the lunch break is too short of just 30 minutes though it could be 45 minutes or 1 hour because its not a regular 8 hour shift. If lets say you have an emergency that day where your stuck on the toilet, your bound to get written up and fall behind in the rate. In my opinion they should get rid of the 15 mintues break and give employees there 1 hour lunch break or let us have the option to forfeit out 15 minutes paid time break and let us have a 1 hour unpaid lunch break. Its not gonna make a difference in production. That way they get to keep the employees a extra 30 minutes if the need too.
