Thanks for not making this a 15 minute video. Clear and to the point.

Keep making videos like this. I’m a journeyman electrician, did the last 3 years of my apprenticeship apprenticeship in controls and automation so haven’t worked with Teck90 at all. Just EMT and liquid tite.

I am doing some research regarding cable type and usage and I found that you have guided the DYI guys about this TEK90. If you have a chance, maybe you can add up more about the cable gland types for this type of cable it would be so helpful. Thanks for the video.

I can make a video on cable types and uses sure.

This is ACWU (Aluminum conductors) you cannot use this here in Canada for Car Charger or Hot Tub. You would need Teck 90 Copper CU conductor.

Do u need a red bushing like bx cable?
@theelectricalguide2 жыл бұрын
The paper under the armour acts as a barrier between the armour and the conductors. The connector you use will also have an insulated throat so to further prevent damage to the conductors as they issue from the end.

No you don't need BX antishot but you need on each terminating end Gound Bushing and the other end regular PVC bushing after the lock nuts. Ground Bushing is very important in this cable. Only one end of the cable must be grounded to ground the armor in the cable.

At my job they just taught me to bend it and snap it, cut it with some dikes, and I usually just press down the sheathing a bit so it’s not all jagged and janky, works pretty good
@theelectricalguide2 жыл бұрын
Once you reach a certain size bending and snapping becomes impossible. Imagine if you were trying to strip 250kcmil teck90. This method would work like a dream with that size too.

Maybe with BX lol
@funksparky2 жыл бұрын
That’s not Teck90 it’s ACWU.
@theelectricalguide2 жыл бұрын
Shh lol it's the same thing :P Strips the same way, is allowed in the same place. Kinda like Kleenex or Tissue
@abdallahalhasnainytimuroglu Жыл бұрын
No the Teck 90 has a rubber instead of paper and very durable. Besides Aluminum Copper difference.
