I would also put a dotted line from the change manager to the business process lead. This, in my view, will help in aligning the changes to business process are made known to owners of the business process in a timely manner and that the necessary support is identified and provided. I have seen projects where the adoption of changes falls behind even if the system is ready, because the responsibilities in this area can be vague if the proper structure is not in place. Another great video by the way. Please keep it up

I second the motion with an even further emphasis on the actual role of Change Management in that it should transcend beyond one of HR management to go further and be driven by the process changes because, as you mention, the understanding of such changes and their impact usually lag behind the rest of the project which causes much of the human stress OCM attempts to manage.

I got the same idea while watching the video. But, why not reunite BPM and OCM ? After all, any change should ideally be triggered by a validated business process enhancement need. And, in the same time, BP owner needs the approval of any change by stakeholders . At another hand, these entities will be relevant during all the company’s lifecycle, not only during an implementation. As long as processes needs optimization, Digital Transformation has to give the convenient tools to support that change.

I agree with you, Roy! The OCM and business process functions should be very closely aligned.

I don't know my comment would be looked or not, but your videos provides a lots of information about new age of digital transformation. Please make a video about "digital disruption" Business. How it can be started and how can we tied up with the other companies to generate their revenue and get profit from it.

Another phenomenal, clear, and simple-to-understand presentation I will benefit from and share with colleagues! Eric, what is your thinking/response to best define how the OCM resource connects with business process changes. Some projects seem to ask the OCM to do the work that Systems Analysts and BA have typically done in projects. What in your incredible resource library best defines who does what with respect to Business Process Improvement and how OCM best connects and extracts impact data as well as provides insights as to gaps, but is not doing the work, e.g creating process diagrams. Is there a video for that? Or could there be? Thanks for all that you share and add to the work!

Very nice explanation. Eric, I am wondering if you have a guide or video covering more in-depth the Business Process Management team that you outlined in your explanation. If not, are you planning to make some videos in this area? I can see BPM is growing at the moment, I am curious how they fit in in the transformation. Thanks so much. Fabio

Hey Eric...great content, however, you have to hire an audio engineer to fix your sound. I always have to listen on max on my Bluetooth.
