It is preferred that it should be read only under a Guru otherwise you'll not get the proper knowledge and also you should know basic Sanskrit to know this and translated Upanishads do not convey the actual message of Upanishads Though you can read it but you'll not know the actual knowledge without a Guru

ब्रह्म को मन से जानने कि कोशिश करने पर मनुष्य योग माया वश उसे परम् ब्रह्म की परिकल्पना करता है और संसार में खोजता है तो अपर ब्रह्म जो प्रचीन प्रर्थना स्थल की मूर्ति है उसे माया वश ब्रह्म समझ लेता है अगर कहा जाऐ तो ब्रह्म को जाने की कोशिश करने पर मनुष्य माया वश उसे परमात्मा समझ लेता है । ब्रह्म जब मनुष्य गरही निद्रा में रहता है तो वह निर्गुण व निराकार ब्रह्म में समा जाऐ रहता है और जब जागता है तो वह सगुण साकार ब्रह्म में होता है अर्थात यह विश्व ही सगुण साकार ब्रह्म है । ब्रह्म मनुष्य है सभी मनुष्य उस ब्रह्म के प्रतिबिम्ब अर्थात आत्मा है सम्पूर्ण विश्व ही ब्रह्म है जो शून्य है वह ब्रह्म है मनुष्य इस विश्व की जितना कल्पना करता है वह ब्रह्म है । ब्रह्म स्वयं की भाव इच्छा सोच विचार है । ब्रह्म सब कुछ है और जो नहीं है वह ब्रह्म है । ( भगवत गीता अध्याय २) आशा करता हूं ये आपको समझ मे आयेगी।
